Hasbro Studios and Sony Music/Legacy Recordings to Release Truly Outrageous: A Jem and the Holograms Tribute
. This ninth installment in PlayDate Digital’s My Little Pony app collection is based on the episode, “Maud Pie,” from the fourth season of the animated series, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, created by Hasbro Studios and currently airing on Discovery Family Channel in the U.S.
Discovery Family Channel (formerly Hub Network) has obtained exclusive broadcast rights to Hasbro Studios‘ My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks film. It will air on October 17 at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT.
This is the second film featuring the My Little Pony characters that are magically transformed into teenage girls in high school. The first movie premiered last June.
The Hub Network will become the Discovery Family Channel effective October 13. While the network will broaden its programming focus to serve families in primetime, it will continue to showcase Hasbro Studios children’s content in daytime.
Discovery Family Channel will continue as a joint venture of Discovery Communications and Hasbro, with Discovery Communications taking a 60 percent ownership position in the new channel and Hasbro’s stake decreasing to 40 percent. Shout! Factory and Hasbro Studios have announced a new distribution agreement to bring a library of nine animated adventure movie and pop culture TV hits to the home entertainment marketplace in the U.S and Canada.
This multi-year, multi-property alliance provides Shout! Factory exclusive rights to My Little Pony animated family adventures My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade, My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas, My Little Pony: Runaway Rainbow, My Little Pony: Dancing in the Clouds, and My Little Pony: Friends are Never Far Away. The deal also includes TV properties Transformers Animated (2007-2009 TV series), Transformers: Armada (2002 TV series), Transformers: Energon (2004 TV series), and Transformers: Cybertron (2005 TV series).
