Delta Children Safe Sleep Campaign Founders Recognized at Gala

DeltaChildrenThe Shamie family founded Delta Children more than 40 years ago on the premise that every family should be able to afford a safe crib. Since then, the company has had a community-centered vision, and at the First Candle Gala held in New York City last week, Joseph Shamie stated as much.

“The more Sam [Shamie] and I give, the more we realize continued effort is needed,” he said. “The more we see struggling families, the more we want to help. The more hardship we witness, the more we realize how truly fortunate we are.”

As part of the Delta Children Safe Sleep Campaign, the brand has been traveling the country on a mission to donate $1,000,000 worth of cribs to families in need, and to provide Safe Sleep tips to parents of newborns.

Kelly Mariotti, the CEO of First Candle, praised Joseph and Sam’s efforts, noting, “It is inspiring to see industry leaders who get down in the trenches to stand up for what they believe in and make a very tangible impact. They have done so much to advance the cause of helping babies survive and thrive.”
