Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band Releases Spanish-Language Album

fantasticoLucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, a Silverlake-based indie-pop band for kids, will release its first entirely Spanish-language album, ¡Fantastico!, for kids, just in time for Cinco de Mayo. The new recording is available now from and other vendors.

The  nationally touring “kindie” rock duo of Lucky Diaz and Alisha Gaddis debuted the new songs at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books Target children’s stage and at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. 
To celebrate this holiday weekend, SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s Kids Place Live (Channel 78) will air a special one-hour “Rumpus Room” concert with Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band four times during May 3 to 5:

  • Friday, 9 p.m. EST/6 pm PDT
  • Saturday, 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST/ 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. PDT
  • Sunday, 12 noon EST/9 a.m. PDT

Translating their hit song “Blue Bear” into “Oso Azul” and re-introducing songs like “Que Dices” and “Gato Astronauta,” Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band offers hip, fresh beats for not only Spanish speakers, but to families that yearn to immerse their youngest listeners in dual language right from the start.  ¡Fantastico! will have you dancing, regardless of what language you speak.

SiriusXM Launches Exclusive Programming Featuring National Geographic Kids

Sirius XM Radio is launching a series of fun and engaging vignettes for young listeners, featuring content from National Geographic Kids, on January 14 on Kids Place Live, Channel 78.

The vignettes are based on National Geographic Kids books, including Are You Normal?, Amazing Animals, The 2013 National Geographic Kids Almanac, and Ultimate Weird but True. In this programming exclusively created for SiriusXM Kids Place, young listeners will hear fun facts and be introduced to the strange, wild, and wonderful world around them. The facts will air throughout the day, Monday through Friday.
