Lego Systems Inc. to Kick Off Interactive Experience Tour

Lego Systems Inc. will kick off the Lego World of Creativity tour in July with five stops scheduled for 2017. The tour will launch in Savannah, Georgia July 7-9 and will make later stops in Albuquerque, New Mexico (Aug. 4-6), Tacoma, Washington (Sept. 8-10), Boise, Indiana (Sept. 29-Oct. 1), and Madison, Wisconsin (Oct. 13-15).

Tickets are currently on sale at the Lego World of Creativity website, and 2018 tour dates will be announced at a later date.

TIF Launches Auction to Benefit Children in Need

Lego Systems to Build Nation of Lego Makers

LEGO_LogoOn Friday, Lego Systems Inc. joined the White House in celebration of the Week of Making, scheduled for June 12 to 18, with a series of activities that amplifies the importance of play, prototyping, and making in the coming year. Lego Systems initiated hands-on, minds-on making activities at the National Maker Faire in Washington on June 12 to 13, and will again in September at World Maker Faire and the Innovation Festival hosted by the Smithsonian and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

TOTY Awards Recognize the Most Outstanding Toys and Games of the Year

TOTY2015logoHundreds of global toy executives and guests gathered in New York City this past Saturday to pay tribute to the toy industry’s best and brightest toys, games and individuals at the 15th Annual Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards and Toy Industry Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Zoomer Dino, from Spin Master, took home the overall Toy of the Year award prize and was named Boy Toy of the Year. Spin Master’s pet dinosaur lets kids train it to sit, speak, and react to commands. Toy Industry Unveils Nominees for 2015 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards

TOTY2015logoToday, the Toy Industry Association (TIA) announced the 83 finalists for the prestigious 2015 Toy of the Year Awards (TOTY). Between now and January 11, toy consumers of all ages can visit www.toyawards.org to vote for their favorite toys, games, and properties across 12 categories.

The 2015 finalists were selected from more than 600 nominees submitted for consideration by 159 companies. Sixty academics, journalists, toy trend experts, play therapists, toy inventors and designers, and toy retailers staffed the nomination committees that narrowed the field to the slate of finalists.

Votes from mass retailers, specialty toy retailers, media, TIA members, and consumers will be weighted and used to determine each of the 12 category winners. The winners—including the overall Toy of the Year and the People’s Choice awards—will be announced at the TOTY Awards ceremony held on February 13, 2015 as the kick-off to the 112th North American International Toy Fair.
