Lottie Dolls Hosts Holiday Adventure Story Writing Competition

Lottie 2Lottie Dolls is hosting the Lottie Holiday Adventure Story Writing Competition for kids ages 10 and under to write a story about Lottie and her holiday adventures. Kids can put their creativity and imagination to action through writing about themes like a love of reading, writing, and a passion for adventure. One winner will receive a selection of ten books from the Lottie Pinterest folder, Great Books for Girls, and new Lottie products before they hit shelves.

To enter, a parent or guardian is asked to download a printable template from the story writing app on the Lottie dolls Facebook page. Parents are then required to take a photo of their kid’s story and upload it onto the storywriting contest Facebook app and fill in a form to grant permission for the entry to be considered for the competition.

Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, fun, overall kid appeal, and keeping true to the pro-girl values of the Lottie brand. The closing date for entries is Friday, September 12.

Lottie to Produce Child Designed Superhero Doll Outfit

unnamedWith so many superhero movies out lately, Lottie wanted to let girls know that they can also be superheroes, so Lottie dolls by Arklu held the Lottie Design a Superhero Outfit Competition–in partnership with the Brave Girls Alliance–to let young kids design a new superhero costume for its dolls.

The winner of the competition is 6-year-old Lily from Kirtland, Ohio. Lily’s Super Lottie design will come to life and will be manufactured and made commercially available this fall. The original artwork design, name, age, city, country, and superhero ability will be on the back of the outfit packaging. In addition, Lily will receive the full line of Lottie dolls and accessories.

For its contest, Lottie asked kids ages 10 and under throughout the world to create a superhero outfit for a Lottie doll. The participants’ designs consisted of drawings showing how the costumes should look, as well as what superpower the doll should have. This is the first time a crowd-sourced design by a child will go into commercial production.

Lottie dolls were designed to look and dress like a regular child with a childlike body shape and no make-up, jewelry, or high heels.

Arklu Introduces New Lottie Dolls

Lighthouse Keeper

Lottie, from Arklu, is a new, innovative fashion doll for girls ages 3 to 9. The key point of difference from other fashion dolls is that Lottie’s body is childlike. Her dimensions (with the exception of her head) are based upon those devised by leading British scientific academics to reflect the average proportions on a 9-year-old girl.

Lottie has lots of dressable fun, is flexible and poseable, and can stand on her own two feet. Her hair is saran nylon, which is less likely to knot and is silky to the touch. Lottie’s motto is Be Bold Be Brave Be You.

The six new Lottie dolls feature Lottie dressed in detailed outfits specific to the theme. These dolls include Pandora’s Box, Lighthouse Keeper, Pirate Queen, Robot Girl, Kawaii Karate, and Butterfly Protector. Other dolls include Spring Celebration Ballet, English Country Garden, Branksea Festival, Pony Flag Race, Autumn Leaves, and Snow Queen. Arklu Launches New British Fashion Doll

Arklu has applied their quintessentially British approach to a new doll brand. Designed for girls ages 3 to 8, Lottie was developed to address parental concerns about other fashion dolls including negative body image, an increased perception of premature sexualization, and a desire for creative and imaginative play.

Lottie has high-quality hair that doesn’t tangle easily. Her premium clothes and accessories are detailed, lifelike, and feature numerous tactile elements. Detachable Velcro patches on her clothing make for added appeal and “swapability.” Accessory packs include a picnic set, Biscuit the Beagle dog, and detachable Velcro pony race winner rosettes. A background story is included on each doll box to encourage imaginative role-play.

Lottie has an emphasis on seasonality, quirky attention to detail, and “back-to-basics” play values. Lottie is about celebrating childhood in its many facets, including imagination, creativity, and pretty clothes, as well as being bold, brave, and active outdoors. The complete range of Lottie dolls and accessories are available now at leading retailers and specialty stores, and online at www.lottie.com and Amazon.
