Disney Interactive and Marvel Entertainment are assembling a group of iconic super heroes for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, which will feature more than 20 new interactive figures, as well as original storylines by Marvel comic writer Brian Michael Bendis. Developed by Avalanche Software, the game includes an all-new Toy Box mode, making it easier for players to create and share with family and friends.
Marvel Entertainment LLC and C-Preme Ltd. partnered for an innovative helmet line that combines 3-D designs with Marvel Super Heroes. Each helmet will represent one character’s core iconography, which means kids can have a replica of Thor’s winged helmet or one with Captain America’s indestructible shield embossed on it. All designs are made using stylized imagery, making protective gear look and feel cool.
The Avengers and Spider-Man will also take new protective form in February, leading to the release of Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier in April and Columbia Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in May.
Disney Consumer Products and Marvel Entertainment has launched the Marvel Creativity Studio Stylus and App, created by eKids, exclusively for iPad. The app delivers a creative space for kids to learn to draw, color, and animate their favorite Marvel Super Heroes and villains from Avengers Assemble, The Ultimate Spider-Man, and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., while the stylus adds special and enhanced play value.
App and Stylus features include:
- Professionally illustrated coloring pages, where you can add your own flare with drawing tools and an extensive color pallet
- Use of the stylus to unlock special tools including the “Reveal” tool to color the page like a pro
- An interactive grid system that includes specialty drawing aids such as side-by-side drawing canvas, trace lines, and unique “Drawing Scope”
- The abililty to build and animate action scenes with character stickers, sound effects, speech bubbles, and backgrounds
- Create-your-own custom stickers and add them to animated scenes
In addition to the launch of the Marvel Creativity Studio Stylus and App, the Disney Creativity Studio app has received a content refresh with more drawing tools to use, so kids can now create drawings of other Disney characters including Disney Junior’s Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, and Jake and the Never Land Pirates, as well as Monsters University and Disney Princess characters.
The Stylus, which includes unlimited access to all content and future updates, is available at mass retailers. A deluxe version with a limited-edition zippered carry case is available exclusively at Apple Retail Stores and from the Apple Online Store. Activision Publishing Inc. and Marvel Entertainment LLC have revealed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game is planned to launch next spring, alongside the Sony Pictures Entertainment feature film of the same name. Developed by Beenox, the action-adventure video game builds on the story of the previous video game, while taking on events of the upcoming movie. Players will also be given a free-roaming experience through an expanded and virtual New York City.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 players will assume the role of Spider-Man, but will choose to be a hero or a menace. Super Hero behavior is rewarded in the game and consequential when crime is not taken care of. The narrative will even give Peter Parker a greater role in the spotlight as he investigates the Marvel menaces threatening Manhattan.
Vans and Marvel Entertainment LLC have announced a footwear collection featuring the most iconic Super Heroes of all time coming exclusively to Journeys retail locations throughout the U.S. this month. Marvel Entertainment, LLC will soon be spinning a major retail web as Ultimate Spider-Man product launches this year with new theming, packaging, and innovation. Marvel will unleash a consumer products program for one of the most enduring and iconic super heroes in the world with more than 200 licensees signing on to create product lines across all major product categories—from toys, games, apparel, and accessories to home goods, collectibles, and social expressions. Marvel Entertainment and Toys “R” Us have teamed up to create a retail experience in support of the summer blockbuster film Marvel’s The Avengers, in theaters May 4. Toys “R” Us has unveiled in-store boutiques dedicated to the multi-character movie event in nearly 600 stores across the country.
Located at the front of every Toys “R” Us store in the U.S., fans can find boutiques showcasing Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. Toys “R” Us Times Square is showcasing products based on the heroes in a dedicated boutique on Level Two.
Marvel has developed a worldwide licensing and merchandising campaign in support of the film. The in-store boutiques feature a collection of toys, including action figures, R/C vehicles, role-play items, and play sets, based on the film and its Marvel Super Hero all-stars. Two assortments of Marvel Universe Collector Base action figures are exclusively available at Toys “R” Us stores and online.

Bravo Sports Corporation has expanded its licensed products division by announcing its partnership with Marvel Entertainment to bring Avengers skateboards to the mass market in time for the summer release of Marvel’s The Avengers.
The skateboard collection features the fictional superhero team of Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Captain America, and Thor, highlights. A 21-inch skateboard was made available in January, and the 28-inch skateboard will be available in March, at Toys R Us. The skateboards come in the following themes, Team, Assemble, Rescue, and Lightning.
