Marvel Launches Collection Inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy

Sept5GuardiansMarvel Entertainment, in conjunction with Disney Consumer Products, has unveiled a product collection to celebrate the new film, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Licensees for the products include Hasbro, Lego, Disguise, Hot Wheels, Her Universe, Café Press, Mad Engine, Just Play, KidDesigns, Rubie’s, C-Life, Jay Franco, and the Disney Store. Products in the line include action figures, plush, play sets, role play, costumes, and ’80s nostalgia-inspired lifestyle products.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy products are available now at national retailers, specialty stores, Marvel.com, Disney store locations nationwide, and DisneyStore.com. The movie opens in theaters on August 1.

Marvel Super Heroes Will Hit North American Retailers This Fall

Disney Infinity Marvel SuperheroesDisney Interactive has confirmed that Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes will be available at North American retailers on September 23. The game will expand the Disney Infinity platform, allowing players to experience all-new Marvel play sets and characters. The popular Toy Box mode also returns with enhanced features, through which users can create their own adventures and share them online with friends.

Through September 22, consumers can pre-order the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack and receive a Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel figure as a bonus.

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes is intended for kids ages 10 and up. All characters and power discs from last year’s release of Disney Infinity will be compatible with the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Toy Box.

Stitch and Tinker Bell Join Disney Infinity 2.0

TinkstitchStitch and Tinker Bell will join all of the characters from Disney Infinity and Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes in Toy Box 2.0 this fall. The characters were two of the most requested characters by the Disney Infinity fan community and will deliver their unique brand of magical, mischievous fun to the game.

Stitch, the lovable “Experiment 626″ from Lilo & Stitch will have his trusty cosmic blaster and the ability to super jump to galactic new heights, while Tinker Bell, one of Disney‘s most iconic characters, will join the Disney Infinity world with her magical healing Pixie Dust and the ability to glide to the stratosphere for fast-flying action.

Marvel Comics Touring Attraction Teams Up with Hollywood Veteran Jerry Rees

MarvelExperienceAs reported by Los Angeles-based entertainment company Hero Ventures, Jerry Rees will lead the creative team responsible for producing The Marvel Experience, an innovative, traveling attraction that affords guests the opportunity to actively participate with dozens of Marvel super heroes.

Snap Creative Launches Collectible Toys for Five Summer Blockbusters

SnapCreative.TransformersSnap Creative will release five collectible and promotional toy programs at movie theaters worldwide for the summer’s top blockbusters. The launch is rolling out throughout the summer, coinciding with the releases of DreamWorksHow to Train Your Dragon 2, Paramount and Hasbro’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Movie-going fans can collect two or three different highly detailed figures or key chains from each feature, along with reusable cups and popcorn packs. These collectible packages will be available in theater chains worldwide in the U.S., China, Mexico, Canada, Germany, Spain, Vietnam, Thailand, and more.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Play Set to Join Disney Infinity

INF2_Marvel_SPDLineupV2-XLDisney has introduced the Marvel Spider-Man Play Set, the latest chapter of Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition).

The game will feature a storyline that follows the Green Goblin as he tries to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. once and for all. He has captured Venom to extract clone symbiotes and hired Mysterio to wreck havoc on the Marvel Universe with him. Players will fight the symbiotes and face off against the villains.

The play set will include playable characters such as Spider-Man, Nick Fury, Iron Fists, and Venom with additional appearances by White Tiger, Black Cat, and Luke Cage. Spider-Man, Nick Fury, Iron Fist, Nova, and Venom will be playable in the new Toy Box 2.0 mode of the game. When players complete the play set, items will unlock to be used along with hundreds of other Marvel and Disney-themed items.

The Spider-Man Play Set will be available in retail stores this fall.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Licensed Products Set to Explode at Retail

Products include Hasbro’s 10-inch electronic figure, Lego’s The Milano Spaceship Rescue construction set, Funko’s vinyl bobble heads, Rubies Costume Co.’s and Disguise‘s Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon costumes, and more.

To date, Guardians of the Galaxy has received major mass retailer commitment, including a cross-category pallet program at Wal-Mart, top placement for Hasbro and Lego’s toy lines in all key accounts, and a heavily promoted party goods program with Party City. The Guardians of the Galaxy merchandising program will benefit from Marvel Studios‘ major marketing push for the film that will hit full force beginning later this month.

Aquarius Entertainment Signs Agreement with Hasbro, Expands into Toys and Games

Its top-performing products include playing cards and puzzles in the game category and desk top standees, lunch tins, and tin signs in the gift category. A DC Comics board game is currently in development.

Recently, Aquarius entered into a licensing agreement with Hasbro to create a range of collectible classic lunch box tins, playing cards, tin deck sets, funky chunky magnets, and posters and décor featuring Hasbro’s classic brands, such as My Little Pony, Transformers, Mr. Potato Head, G.I. Joe, Monopoly, and Candyland. Products are now available on specialty retail shelves.

Aquarius/NMR also holds licenses including Marvel, the Beatles, Coca-Cola, and more.

Based on a brand new, true-to-property storyline composed with the help of veteran Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis, the play set will feature Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, and Hawkeye.

Marvel, Feld Entertainment Release Exclusive Marvel Comic Book for Marvel Universe Live!

MarvelLiveThis summer, Marvel Universe Live! will bring more than 25 Marvel characters together for a live arena show that will tour 85 cities, and debuts this July in Tampa, Fla.

Feld Entertainment, the producer of Marvel Universe Live!, will release an exclusive prequel comic book created by Marvel. It will give audiences insight into the story behind the show, as well as introduce a new item in the Marvel Universe that plays a key role in the live show: the Lectro Link.

Written by Frank Tieri and illustrated by Miguel Sepulveda, with color art by Jay David Ramos, the comic is available for a limited time to those who pre-order tickets. The Lectro Link, meanwhile, is being made available as a unique collectible item, which customers can either pre-order online when purchasing tickets or buy at the show.
