With less than one month until Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron arrives in theaters, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) and Marvel have released details about their merchandising program, which is arriving at retail now. Toy partners include Hasbro, Lego, Hot Wheels, Funko, Rubie’s Costumes, Disney Store, and more. The toys range from interactive electronic action figures with voice-activation to motorized 6V ride-on super cars that drive 2.5 miles per hour; to articulated, light-up repulsor FX gloves; and a disk-launching shield.
Two familiar faces from the Marvel Universe—one friendly, the other slightly less so—make their way into Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) today. Fans will be able to purchase figures for Falcon and Loki, who join a variety of Marvel super heroes, Disney fan favorites, and more to create all-new adventures.
Marvel Rolls Out Extensive Toy, Kids Product Program for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Spider-Man, and More
On Wednesday, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) revealed its 2015 plans for Marvel and its key franchises, including The Avengers and Spider-Man. This year will see the roll-out of one of DCP’s biggest licensing programs to date, which would revolve around Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, the launch of new animated content, and innovative marketing initiatives.

Disney Interactive has launched the free Disney Infinity: Toy Box 2.0 app for iPad and iPhone. A new addition to the Disney Infinity game universe, the app features all of the tools and enhanced features of Toy Box 2.0 from Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition), as well as all-new multiplayer functionality so mobile gamers can create Toy Boxes together using favorite Marvel and Disney characters, vehicles, settings, and items.
Funko has collaborated with Marvel on a new subscription box service, Marvel Collector Corps, featuring exclusive collectibles, apparel, and accessories from major events in the Marvel film and comic book universe. As a 42-year-old dad to two young boys, I get excited when they ask for toys bearing the same franchises I loved as a child during the 70’s and 80’s (It seems to be superhero everything, these days!). Providing them these experiences reminds me that I still have some youthful zeal and enthusiasm, which is a great asset in my role as a cultural strategist who works day-to-day at loftier, more adult-natured stuff.
