Disguise Renews Multi-Year Agreement for Top Disney Property Costumes

Disguiselogo copyDisguise Inc., the Halloween costume division of Jakks Pacific Inc., has renewed its agreement with Disney Consumer Products to create, manufacture, and distribute Halloween costumes and accessories based on top Disney properties. Disguise will continue to build on its Disney costume portfolio with new additions including Big Hero 6, Frozen Fever, Descendants, and Disney Junior’s Miles from Tomorrowland. Costumes for Frozen, Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Monsters, Inc., and more will expand this year.

Disguise’s costumes are available in sizes ranging from infant to adult.

Famed Designer Gayle Middleton Debuts New Line of Plush Baby Monsters

BitemaresToy creator Gayle Middleton, who helped re-design My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop for Hasbro, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund her latest designs. These include a Baby Undead Dragon and toe-nibbling little fur balls called Bitemares.

“After years of designing adorable pets for Hasbro, Disney and others, I started doodling these odd, ghostly white vampire babies drinking undead dragon bottled blood in 2006,” says Middleton. “Maybe I was suffering from, ‘Cute Overload,’ and this was my way of dealing with it. I wanted to create babies that were cute but mischievous, something surprisingly off-center and bizarre… Other breeds of creepy-yet-cute monster babies started appearing on my sketch pad, and after 3 years I had coined a name for them: Vamplets.” [Read more...]

Disney Greenlights New Monsters Movie, Plus Pirates 4 and The Muppets

During a presentation on Thursday by Walt Disney Studios chairman Rich Ross, Disney unveiled its upcoming slate of movies.

Pixar will release a sequel to Monsters, Inc. in November 2012. Monsters, Inc. debuted in theaters in 2001, and has grossed over $525 million worldwide. Ross also announced that Pixar’s Brave has been scheduled for June 15, 2012.

Other upcoming movies include Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and The Muppets in 2011, and Prom in 2012.
