NBC Revs Up Global Merchandize Program for Fast & Furious

NBCUniversal Brand Development and NBCUniversal Consumer Products will debut a new vehicle toy line with Mattel, as well as an extensive cross-category merchandising program for the Fast & Furious franchise next year. The toy line will feature the characters, vehicles, and original environments from all the films. Additionally, Jada Toys will continue to create die-cast Fast & Furious vehicles for collectors.

Other partners, categories, and updates for the franchise will be announced throughout the year. The eighth Fast & Furious film will release in theaters on April 14, 2017.

NBCUniversal Acquires DreamWorks Animation

NBCUniversal, a division of Comcast Corporation, announced the acquisition of DreamWorks Animation. The studio will become part of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, which includes Universal Pictures, Fandango, and NBCUniversal Brand Development.

Under the terms of the agreement, DreamWorks Animation has an equity value of approximately $3.8 billion. DreamWorks Animation stockholders will receive $41 in cash for each share of DreamWorks Animation common stock. The agreement has been approved by the boards of directors of DreamWorks Animation and Comcast, and the controlling shareholder of DreamWorks Animation has approved the agreement by written consent.   [Read more...]

V&S Entertainment, Universal Launch “Everything’s Rosie” DVD in Time for Easter

Rosie - Bubble Trouble 3DNBC Universal and V&S Entertainment have unveiled the newest title for preschool animated series Everything’s Rosie. The DVD, Bubble Trouble, is a compilation of adventures from Series 2 of the CBeebies program. Each episode offers children a journey filled with excitement, fun, and friendship as Rosie and her friends embark on life’s unpredictable challenges.

The latest DVD follows two earlier releases last year, The Greatest Show in the Garden and The Last Snowball.

Bubble Trouble is available at Amazon, Sainsbury’s, and The Hut.

Ubisoft Launches House, M.D. Game For Facebook


Ubisoft announces House, M.D.: Critical Cases is now available on Facebook. Based on the TV series House, the game lets fans take on the roles of their favorite doctor-detectives. Players work to diagnose and cure the most critical cases before time runs out. Free to Facebook members, the game can be played with friends and other fans of the show.

Nintendo DSiWare to release House M.D. – Globetrotting

Gamers can now test out their own medical and sleuthing skills in the new game being released on Nintendo DSiWare, House M.D. – Globetrotting. Based on the popular T.V. series, House M.D. – Globetrotting is the first of five episodes, featuring all eight stars from the show. New game episodes will be released monthly.

Players will be plunged into the world of Dr. House and his team as they are asked to solve mind-bending puzzles and mini-games to uncover valuable information about the patient’s hidden life.

NBC Universal, Legacy Interactive and Glyphic Entertainment, LLC will co-publish the game software.
