Build-A-Bear Workshop Meets Bikini Bottom with New SpongeBob SquarePants Collection

Build-A-Bear Workshop, the interactive entertainment retailer of customizable stuffed animals, announced a new relationship with Nickelodeon to bring the animated series, SpongeBob SquarePants, to Build-A-Bear Workshop. Beginning May 17, the company will offer make-your-own SpongeBob and Patrick at Build-A-Bear Workshop stores throughout North America and online at buildabear.com. SpongeBob’s Bikini Bottom friends Sandy Cheeks and Gary the Snail will also be available as pre-stuffed minis.

Build-A-Bear Workshop stores nationwide will be celebrating the arrival of SpongeBob with a series of special events from May 17 through May 19. Guests will be encouraged to dress up in their favorite SpongeBob-themed apparel. Additionally, guests who purchase a SpongeBob or Patrick plush will receive a free paper pineapple hat while making one of these new furry friends.

Guests can dress their SpongeBob and Patrick plush in a variety of clothing and accessories, including SpongeBob’s Pirate Costume, Patrick’s Pirate Costume, Pineapple House, and SpongeBob SquarePants Song Sound Chip.

Additionally, any furry friend can dress up in SpongeBob PJ Pants and SpongeBob T-Shirt to join the Bikini Bottom fun.

Temple Run Wins Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award, Unveils New Licensing Partnerships

Dimensional Branding Group (DBG), the licensing agency for Imangi Studios, announced today that Temple Run has won Nickelodeon’s annual Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite App. Temple Run beat Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and Minecraft for the award.

Nickelodeon said more than 387 million votes were cast online in more than 22 countries, in 20 categories, spanning film, television, books, music, and sport for the stunt-filled annual award show.

More then just a game, Dimensional Branding has extended the Temple Run brand to include children’s sleepwear by Komar, digital comics with Ape Entertainment, and card and board games with Spin Master, among other licensing partnerships.

Nickelodeon, Fuhu Inc. Sign Multi-Year Deal

Nickelodeon and Fuhu Inc. have signed a multi-year deal to produce and distribute Nickelodeon-themed tablet accessories and nabi Jr. tablets pre-loaded with the network’s content. The first release of the partnership is the recently launched, touchscreen nabi Jr. tablet, filled with educational apps, games, and videos, from Nickelodeon preschoolseries including, Dora the ExplorerTeam Umizoomi, and Bubble Guppies. This spring, a line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-inspired mobile tablet accessories, such as character bumpers, Kinabis, and stands, will be available nationwide.

Additionally, Fuhu, Inc. is an associate sponsor of Nickelodeon’s 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, airing March 23 from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Sing Along with Dora in Brand-New Primetime Special, Dora Rocks!

Nickelodeon invites preschoolers to jam with Dora in the brand-new Dora the Explorer primetime special, ”Dora Rocks!” premiering  January 14 at 7 p.m. The half-hour adventure gives kids the opportunity to practice their musical skills and play interactive games learning geometry and catchy Spanish words and phrases. Bravo Sports Corp. to Launch Line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Skateboards

With a new TV series and a major motion picture, coming 2014, Nickelodeon is reinventing the wildly popular and iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters. Bravo Sports Corp. is releasing a new line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skateboards, to be sold at Toys “R” Us beginning in late January.

The line will include the 21-inch Cruiser Shape and the 28-inch Skateboard.

Toy & Game Industry Luminaries Celebrate Inventors at Annual Industry Gala

As part of the Chicago Toy & Game Week, industry leaders from 18 countries gathered at the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History for the 5th Annual Toy and Game Inventors Awards, known as “The TAGIEs,” to honor the creators of some of the world’s best known playthings.

Nearly 400 industry movers-and-shakers gathered for the event, at which famed inventor Bruce Lund gave a keynote address after being introduced by a full-sized marching band. The Little Gym Partners with Nickelodeon To Host Official Dora the Explorer Birthday Parties

Parents seeking a birthday adventure for their children soon will be able to grab their backpacks and head to The Little Gym. Nickelodeon and The Little Gym International have announced a partnership that will bring Dora the Explorer-themed birthday parties to the more than 210 The Little Gym locations in the United States.

The Little Gym, the leading experiential learning and child physical development center for ages four months through 12 years, will become the exclusive host of Dora the Explorer-themed birthday parties during its 2012-2013 season. The company has worked with Nickelodeon to create a special birthday party curriculum that includes a storyline and music from the Emmy award-winning animated preschool series. The Little Gym’s trained instructors will lead children through a Dora adventure featuring encounters with Backpack, Map, and other characters from Dora’s world.

The Little Gym expects to also add Go, Diego, Go!-themed parties later in the 2012-2013 season.

Lego, Nickelodeon Expand Global Partnership

The Lego Group and Nickelodeon are expanding their global partnership to develop construction toys inspired by the recently launched CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television series. The collection is slated to launch in North America and the UK in January and will roll out in global markets later in the year. The companies have a long-standing relationship and first partnered together in 2006 to create Lego SpongeBob Squarepants. Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiered on Sept. 29, drawing almost 12 million viewers during its premiere weekend.

One playset and select minifigures from the forthcoming line were unveiled at the Lego booth at New York Comic-Con at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from October 11 to 14.
