Toy State Introduces New Line of TMNT Vehicles

unnamedToy State secured a licensing partnership with Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) to design, develop, and manufacture lines of toy vehicles featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand.

The two-year deal will allow Toy State to create Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed vehicles that will be available this summer at major retailers across the EMEA region.

Toy State also recently added Barbie to its licensing portfolio, joining the company’s flagship Road Rippers and Nikko brands, as well as lines featuring licensed properties including Hot Wheels, Caterpillar, WWE, Thomas & Friends, and DC Super Friends.

Magformers Creates TMNT Building Sets

Magformers.TMNTMagformers has entered a licensing partnership with Nickelodeon to create a line of magnetic building kits for preschoolers inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

The Half-Shell Heroes sets allow preschoolers to build with Magformers squares and triangles to create Turtle Towers. Kids can match the characters to their colors and interchange them to tell their own story. [Read more...]

Playmates Toys Launches TMNT: Out of the Shadows Toy Line

Alex Brands Introduces More Than 350 New Products at NYTF 2016

AlexBrandsAlex Brands launched more than 350 products in spa, crafts and Do-It-Yourself (DIY), outdoor/active, STEM, infant/preschool categories at the North American International Toy Fair.

Spa, crafts, and DIY categories include Layer & Wear Watercolor Tattoos, the Sweet Scent Sprinkle Nails kit, and My Lites Custom Streaks to add fashion products for tweens. The outdoor/active category includes the Poof Tunnel Ball, Fling Flyer, the Ultra-Tek Cyclonic, and Stingray that add creativity to physical play.

The STEM category includes the Scientific Explorer Young Architect City Planner and CitiBlocs allowing kids to become urban planning skills. The infant and preschool categories include the Rouge Kaloo collection featuring a family animals, the new Janod collection, and a 300-piece puzzle the Giant World Map.

Alex Brands also expanded its licensed product offering with fresh new activities for Nickelodeon’s animated series Shimmer and Shine and Blaze and the Monster Machines. Alex Brands has also partnered with Universal Studios for the July 2016 animated movie release The Secret Life of Pets.

Women in Toys Announces Nominees for 12 Annual Wonder Women Awards

Bandai America to Unveil Toy Line for Zag Heroez Series Miraculous

MiraculousBandai America will showcase its toy line for the new animated series Miraculous during the North American International Toy Fair from Feb. 13 to 16. The series’ first season premiered on Nickelodeon, having already debuted in France and Korea with consistent number one ratings.

Bandai will introduce an assortment of toys centered on aspirational action play, transformation and friendship. Targeted to girls ages 4-8, the Miraculous toy line is set to launch this fall at mass and specialty retailers across the globe. [Read more...]

Play Fair Offers Attendees Exclusive Fan Experiences

PlayFairPlay Fair will welcome attendees for the first time at New York City’s Javits Center North on February 13 and 14 next year. The inaugural event, hosted by the Toy Industry Association and LeftField Media, will offer families and toy collectors the opportunity to interact with presenting sponsors Lego Systems Inc. and Nickelodeon, as well as toy and family brands, including Mattel, Hasbro, Warner Bros. Pictures, Crayola, and Toys “R” Us.

Play Fair will offer attendees exclusive fan experiences, such as seeing the new Batmobile from Warner Bros. Wicked Cool Toys Awarded U.S., Canadian ALVINNN! and The Chipmunks Master Toy Licence

ALVINNNWicked Cool Toys has aligned with Bagdasarian Productions and PGS as the master toy licensee for ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks, the CG-animated show on Nickelodeon. The series offers a fresh look at the classic adventures of Alvin, Theodore, Simon and the Chipettes.

Wicked Cool Toys will develop a line of toys, including a Voice Changer Singing Microphone, fully articulated figures, play sets, R/C, plush, and more. They are expected to hit retailers in next summer and fall.

 

Fall Toy Preview Buyer Registration Starts Strong

TIARegistration for the Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) annual Fall Toy Preview has started out strong, with more than 200 buyers from global retail outlets already signed up to attend the preview show, to be held in Dallas on October 6 to 8. Representatives of global retailers and toy sellers—including buyers from GameStop, Toys “R” Us, and more—will be on-site to browse hundreds of brands with one or more lines slated for the fourth quarter of next year.
