Toys “R” Us stores worldwide, as well as toysrus.com, are set for a year-long celebration in honor of the Star Wars saga. Beginning on May 3 in the U.S., Star Wars Day events will take place at all Toys “R” Us locations across the country. Young Jedis and their families are invited to visit their local store dressed in their Star Wars best, receive giveaways, and more.

As a 42-year-old dad to two young boys, I get excited when they ask for toys bearing the same franchises I loved as a child during the 70’s and 80’s (It seems to be superhero everything, these days!). Providing them these experiences reminds me that I still have some youthful zeal and enthusiasm, which is a great asset in my role as a cultural strategist who works day-to-day at loftier, more adult-natured stuff. The great journey of adulthood will happen to us all. However, before you get there, it’s time to enjoy these fun and amusing board games.
Don’t even try to get to adulthood without playing Candy Land! This amusing game has been entertaining children of all ages for decades and decades, and you simply cannot miss it.
While one of the games can still take hours to complete, Monopoly Jr. is more suitable for a younger crowd than the standard version. Youngsters can certainly learn some basic counting skills while having a lot of fun.
