Rasta Imposta has been granted a license from Sony Pictures Consumer Products to produce Halloween costumes featuring characters from Pixels, based on the movie set to hit theaters July 24. Rasta Imposta will bring the Arcaders to Halloween this year, along with Lady Lisa and the video game character Q*Bert from the upcoming film.
The Orb Factory, a leader in the specialty craft industry, has just launched their newest brand, Pixel Pops. These 8-bit inspired crafts consist of mini Pixilated pets, each with their own accessory and special habitat.
To play, children use a stylus to pick up and stick small squishy cubes onto a base. Following the illustrated instructions, they layer colored squares to make a pixilated pet and charm. These kits are appeal to kids who like to build, create, and enjoy activities such as Lego and Minecraft.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has brought together a number of iconic video game companies, whose characters—such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Frogger, and Q*bert—will be featured in next year’s action comedy Pixels, to be released on May 15.
Companies with classic arcade games that are teaming with Sony Pictures on the film include: Atari Interactive (publisher of Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, and Missile Command), Konami Digital Entertainment Co. Ltd. (Frogger), Bandai Namco Games Inc. (Pac-Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug), Nintendo (Donkey Kong), Columbia Pictures Industries Inc. (Q*bert), Taito Corporation (Space Invaders), and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (Joust, Defender, Robotron, and Wizard of Wor).
