President of Disney Consumer Products to Speak at PlayCon

bobchapekBob Chapek, president of Disney Consumer Products, has just been added to the lineup of industry professionals slated to speak at this year’s annual PlayCon, which will be held in Scottsdale, Ariz. from May 6 through 8.

Chapek will share his vision for driving future growth at Disney Consumer Products. He will also discuss the recent acquisition of Lucasfilm and the integration of Star Wars into the portfolio of franchises, which includes Disney Princess, Toy Story, and The Avengers.

Hasbro to Present Global Consumer Insights at PlayCon

The Toy Industry Association has announced that Katy Giffault, vice president of global consumer insights at Hasbro, will share the company’s case study on entering and achieving success in the Chinese market during this year’s PlayCon.

Attendees will hear firsthand the demographic and socio-economic data used, as well as the consumer insight work done internally to determine Hasbro’s strategic entry into the emerging global market.

TIA’s ToyCon Relaunches as PlayCon

The Toy Industry Association, Inc. announced that its annual executive leadership conference, formerly known as ToyCon, will relaunch in May 2011 as “PlayCon – the International Conference of Play Professionals.”  The play-focused event will be held May 4-6, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. The conference will cater to TIA members as well as toy industry and play professionals who are seeking information, tools, and inspiration regarding play.
