Last Thursday, nearly 1,300 leaders from the toy and baby products industries came together at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City to celebrate the 2015 Toys “R” Us Children’s Fund Gala. During the evening, $4.6 million was raised for the Toys “R” Us Children’s Fund, a public charity affiliated with Toys “R” Us Inc., to aid in its mission to keep children safe and help them in times of need. The event was hosted by comedian Martin Short and featured a performance by Lenny Kravitz.
Toys “R” Us has introduced an exclusive, 100-percent recyclable, reusable tote bag featuring a young child’s artwork at its stores. One dollar from the purchase of each bag will be donated directly to Save the Children‘s Domestic Emergency Fund, a global humanitarian organization that ensures the urgent needs of children are met during a crisis.
Toys “R” Us and Save the Children have also compiled disaster planning tips and checklists on the company’s dedicated safety site, www.toysrusinc.com/safety, where families can learn more about fundamental supplies for emergency kits, determining a safe location if loved ones are separated, and how to develop a communication strategy. Customers can also visit www.toysrus.com/savethechildren to view an official registry of products, including toys and games, which can be purchased and sent directly to Save the Children to be used for kids during times of crisis. Diapers, wipes, hygiene items, and other basic supplies can also be purchased from this registry.
Toys “R” Us, Inc. has launched its 2010 Bundled in Hope campaign benefiting Save the Children, a global humanitarian agency working to assist children in the U.S. and around the world. To kick off the campaign, the Toys “R” Us Children’s Fund donated a $250,000 grant to Save the Children.
Now through July 11, all donations made at Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us stores nationwide and online at Toysrus.com/BundledinHope will be given to Save the Children’s U.S. Programs, which help to purchase blankets and provide support for babies in need across the country.
