Britney Spears to Release New Song for New Smurfs Movie

smurfs2Britney Spears will release a song for Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation‘s family comedy The Smurfs 2, titled “Ooh La La,” via Kemosabe/RCA Records. “Ooh La La” will play at the end credits of the film. The Smurfs 2, the sequel to the hybrid live action/animated film released in 2011, is set to hit theaters on July 31.

Spears says, “I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans ever. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic!”

Hotel Transylvania Comes Alive on Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS

This September, GameMill Entertainment will release Hotel Transylvania, an action-adventure video game based on Sony Pictures Animation’s upcoming animated comedy Hotel Transylvania, for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS handheld systems.

Hotel Transylvania is Dracula’s five-stake resort where monsters and their families are free to be themselves without humans bothering them. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem, until one ordinary guy stumbles onto the hotel and takes a shine to his daughter Mavis. Featuring a wide variety of locations, puzzles, and boss battles, the game provides film viewers with a way to interact with the movie characters.

Developed by Way Forward, Hotel Transylvania is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and up.

Sony Pictures Animation to Bring Tonka Trucks To Big Screen

Tonka, the Hasbro brand that for 65 years has been best known for its line of toy trucks for children, will soon grace the big screen in a fully-animated motion picture to be produced by Sony Pictures Animation, Hasbro, and Happy Madison Productions.

The film will also be produced and developed by Goldner and Hasbro’s senior vice president and managing director of motion pictures, Bennett Schneir, and will be written by Fred Wolf.

The new Tonka project is in addition to several others in the works between Sony Pictures and Hasbro. Sony Pictures is developing motion pictures based on Hasbro’s Risk and Candy Land brands. Candy Land is also a Happy Madison project.

Tonka has been the bestselling toy truck globally since 1947.
