Cryptozoic Entertainment and Sony Pictures Consumer Products have teamed up for a second Ghostbusters board game. Next month, the companies will launch a Kickstarter campaign for Ghostbusters: The Board Game II.
The game features a new original story from Ghostbusters comics writer Erik Burnham, and the new figures for the game are based on designs from Ghostbusters comic book artist Dan Schoening. The story has the Ghostbusters investigating mood slime that has flooded the city, creating earthquakes and riots in another attempt to bring Vigo and his minions back.
The second board game has new game elements including Slime Blower Pack Ghostbusters, Ooze entities that split apart and join back together, allies, new equipment such as Ecto Goggles and Portal Destabilizers, and more. The map tiles in the game depict buildings destroyed by earthquakes and fires, collapsed streets that expose slime infested sewers, tunnels with derailed subway cars, and ghost trains.
Rasta Imposta has been granted a license from Sony Pictures Consumer Products to produce Halloween costumes featuring characters from Pixels, based on the movie set to hit theaters July 24. Rasta Imposta will bring the Arcaders to Halloween this year, along with Lady Lisa and the video game character Q*Bert from the upcoming film.
Jakks Pacific Inc. has secured a licensing agreement with Lafig and Sony Pictures Consumer Products to produce toys and related products based on the Smurfs franchise, including the classic Smurfs brand and the upcoming Smurfs feature film premiering in August 2016. The worldwide master toy agreement includes the rights to produce figures, play sets, plush, and more.
Jakks Pacific’s new Smurfs toys will be available at retailers nationwide this fall.
Big Tent Entertainment has lined up more partners to represent the pop-culture mash-up of Domo and Slimer. Underground Toys, Kelly Toy, and Funko will be releasing products portraying Domo as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Slimer, and a full-fledged Ghostbuster.
Underground Toys will create a line featuring plush, mugs, stickers, and more for department stores, specialty stores, stationery and gift stores, catalogs, and Internet retailers worldwide (excluding Asia). Kelly Toys will create multiple sizes of soft-sculptured toys for amusement parks and carnival and prize games in the U.S. and Canada.

Ghostbusters, one of the most successful film franchises of all time, will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary next year. Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) will launch an all new program targeting the core fan base with products in categories such as apparel, toys, construction, collectibles, and publishing through partnerships. SPCP will participate in events and engage in new partnerships sure to excite fans new and old.
SPCP has partnered with pop culture art gallery, Gallery 1988 to create a traveling art show designed by top artists, which will include their interpretations of Ghostbusters over the last 30 years. Limited-edition screen prints and posters will be available during each stop of the tour, which will conclude at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
Some of the global toy, publishing, and apparel licensees supporting the anniversary are Mattel Inc., IDW Publishing, World Tech Toys, Quantum Mechanics, Factory Entertainment, Diamond Select and Medicom Toys, Mad Engine, Titan Figures, Uniqlo, Kientai, and BCI. Funko and Underground Toys will produce collectibles and novelty products.
Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) has inked deals with multiple partners around the globe in time for the release of Men In Black 3 on May 25. For global deals, SPCP has teamed up with Activision for video games across multiple platforms; Gameloft for mobile games; SEE for an online game; and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for digital costumes within the existing Little Big Planet game.
Jakks Pacific, master toy licensee, has created action figures, accompanying accessories, and more. GreenLight has created die-cast MIB cars and vehicle model kits. In collectibles, Enterbay has figurines, Factory Entertainment is making replicas of props and gadgets, Kotobukiya has created PVC statues, and Studio Art & Technology is also making prop replicas. Other licensees have signed on for apparel and accessories.

Jakks Pacific, Inc. has announced a master toy licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to manufacture, distribute, and market a line of toys and products based on the upcoming Men In Black 3. The licensing program, due to launch next spring, will include action figures, accessories, play sets, role play, youth electronics, novelties, games and puzzles, Halloween costumes, and more. The agreement covers the entire Men in Black franchise.
The 3-D action comedy, slated to open on May 25, is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and stars Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin. The screenplay was written by Etan Cohen, based on the Malibu Comic by Lowell Cunningham, and the movie is produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald and executive produced by Steven Spielberg and G. Mac Brown.
