Spielwarenmesse eG has released a report summarizing the results of the 66th Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg. The total number of exhibitors was 2,857, up from 2,748 during the prior year. International exhibitors totaled 2,051 and represented 67 countries, up from 1,951 exhibitors and 61 countries during the previous year. Last week, Spielwarenmesse enjoyed an increase in the number of international visitors, which rose to 58 percent, as reported by Spielwarenmesse eG. Four winners were honored with the ToyAward on January 28 at this year’s opening ceremony of Spielwarenmesse, the specialty trade show in Nuremberg. The winners of the ToyAward beat 601 products from 318 exhibitors, and were chosen based on quality, creativity, safety, and educational benefits. Each year, Spielwarenmesse exhibitors donate their products to charity. Spielwarenmesse eG collects these items on the last day of the fair and presents them to SOS Children’s Villages and regional institutions in Franconia.
The Spielwarenmesse eG fair team has been working with the Nuremberg SOS Children’s Village since Spielwarenmesse 2014 to give gifts to children all over Germany. That year, around 800 of the 2,700 exhibitors donated some of their products to the charity, and all in all, more than 8,000 products were collected and donated to social institutions throughout Germany. Twenty-six toy manufacturers from 12 countries are using Spielwarenmesse eG’s World of Toys program, which supports exhibitors wanting to develop business relationships in the Asian market, to exhibit at the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair 2015.
