AG Properties Expands in Central and South America

The popularity of Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, and Holly Hobbie & Friends continues to grow in Central and South America as AG Properties (AGP), the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, expands its agreements with Productos Panameños and Campestre Confeccao e Comercio for products in Brazil and Panama based on these properties. The deals were negotiated by Exim Licensing Group, licensing agency of record for AGP in Brazil and Panama.

hhf_logo_002Campestre, already a licensee for Care Bears in Brazil, has expanded its relationship with AGP to include backpacks for Holly Hobbie & Friends. Campestre also maintains an established roster of Care Bears products that includes stationery, apparel, publishing, health and beauty aids, and footwear.

In Panama, AGP and Exim have renewed a partnership with Productos Panameños for stationery items featuring Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, and Holly Hobbie & Friends.

AGP Launches Strawberry Shortcake Program in Italy

Linea Perugina UOVO fragolina 2013Strawberry Shortcake continues to flourish in Europe as American Greetings Properties (AGP), the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, announces several new licensing deals for the brand in Italy. The new deals, which include novelty books, candy, and arts and crafts products, were secured by AG Properties’ international licensing agent Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG).

Edizioni Play Press will introduce magic albums, activity books, and coloring books at mass retailers this spring, while RCS Libri SPA is planning a line of novelty, picture, story, and activity books for sale at specialty stores. In addition, Multiprint has secured the Strawberry Shortcake license for an assortment of stationery and arts and crafts items under the brand Uva Fragola. American Greetings, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Launch National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month With Strawberry Shortcake

American Greetings Properties, the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for kids with cancer, are once again teaming up for a berry special campaign this September in support of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Pop culture icon Strawberry Shortcake is enlisting families across the country to host Strawberry Shortcake Alex’s Lemonade Stands to raise funds and awareness for the cause. The campaign, now in its third year, has raised more than $150,000 in support of research projects dedicated to finding a cure for all kids with cancer.

Families can sign up to host Strawberry Shortcake Alex’s Lemonade Stands during the month of September at http://www.alexslemonade.org/campaign/strawberry-shortcake. Volunteers will be provided with Strawberry Shortcake kits that include vouchers for strawberry lemonade and branded materials to make their lemonade stand “stand” apart. In addition to the funds raised, American Greetings Properties will donate $50 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for the first 300 stands registered in September, which will go toward research.

DHX Media Acquires Cookie Jar Entertainment

DHX Media has acquired the business of Cookie Jar Entertainment to create Canada’s largest independent children’s entertainment company. The deal will be completed in mid-October, subject to a number of conditions including shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Properties will include Yo Gabba Gabba!, Rastamouse, Franny’s Feet, Animal Mechanicals,  Kid vs. Kat, Angela Anaconda, Martha Speaks, as well as Caillou, Inspector Gadget, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, The Doodlebops, and Johnny Test.

The transaction implies an enterprise value for Cookie Jar of $111 million. DHX expects to realize cost synergies, which should be achieved within the first year following the closing of the transaction.

Turkish Strawberry Shortcake Talent Contest Concludes

American Greetings Properties (AGP), the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, has announced the successful conclusion of its recent Strawberry Shortcake singing competition for girls in Turkey. AGP partnered with Max Licensing, its international licensing agent for the brand, known as Strawberry Shortcake Çilek Kiz in Turkey, to launch the Strawberry Shortcake “Çilek Kiz Talent Contest.”

The contest asked fans to submit videos of themselves singing the popular Strawberry Shortcake songs “We are all Stars” and “Anything is Possible” in both Turkish and English, online for a chance to win a role in a Strawberry Shortcake TV commercial. Ten finalists were chosen among 300 video submissions to perform at the grand finale event, held at the Kozzy Shopping Center in Istanbul on May 27th and judged by local Turkish celebrities.

Strawberry Shortcake TM CGI Adventure Comes To Kidtoons Theaters

Kidtoons and AG Properties, a division of American Greetings, have premiered the new Strawberry Shortcake movie, Berryfest Princess, in nearly 150 theaters nationwide. Showing exclusively at Kidtoons theaters throughout the month of March, The Berryfest Princess Movie features Strawberry Shortcake and her berry best friends in another CGI adventure.

Berry Bitty City is preparing for the annual Spring Festival and Strawberry Shortcake has just been appointed Berryfest Princess. Strawberry Shortcake and her friends must work together to ensure the festival and parade are the sweetest events Berry Bitty City has ever seen. The movie aims to teach that teamwork, friendship, and hard work pay off.
