The Toy Insider and Woman’s Day Magazine Launch New Video Series

WomansDayVideoThe first entry in The Toy Insider‘s newest Fun with Kids video series launched this week at Woman’s Day. The latest video can be found on the Woman’s Day site’s front page, and the series will run for the next five weeks leading up to the holidays, reaching the site’s 3.9 million unique monthly visitors (Note: The Toy Insider is published by Adventure Publishing Group, which also owns The Toy Book).

In “Toys in Motion,” Toy Insider Mom Laurie Schacht and Woman’s Day‘s Senior Editor Taryn Mohrman show off this season’s hottest toys that race, fly, and ride. Discovery Kids Partners with Cypher, Tek Nek for New Lines of Adventure Products

Discovery Kids has partnered with Cypher Entertainment and Tek Nek Toys to develop new lines of kids’ products. Cypher Entertainment will debut a line of 3D Jurassic Action toys, including the Dino Excavation Kit and Interactive Dinosaur Kit, which will use augmented reality technology to trigger an interactive dinosaur via any smartphone. The kits will come with digging tools and protective glasses to excavate fossilized bones and reconstruct a dinosaur. The line will also come with a trading card mobile game. 

Tek Nek Toys will introduce a line of outdoor adventure and role-play products that will include a ride-on vehicle, bug vacuum, light-up viewing scope, big pocket vest, wrist/watch compass, periscope, magnifying glass, creature catching net, and pop-up critter hamper. The line will also come with an electronic talking puzzle map of the U.S. and a number of play sets designed to let kids step into the roles of firefighters, police officers, soldiers, and handymen.

The products will be available across mass-market retailers, specialty retail stores, toy stores, consumer electronic stores, mid-tier department stores, and Internet retailers later this year.

Encyclopedia Britannica Launches Britannica Kids touchTab

Encyclopedia Britannica, in partnership with Tek Nek Toys Inc., has launched its first interactive Britannica Kids touchTab. The touchTab is an educational tablet that inspires kids to learn interesting facts about various subjects with hands-on interactive play and quizzes to test knowledge.

Encyclopedia Britannica has found a way to engage young audiences while promoting knowledge and learning.  The touchTab comes with three content-rich cartridges, North American Mammals, Australian Mammals and African Mammals. Additional themed sets include Exploring Space, Incredible Earth, Amazing Ocean Life, and Days of the Dinosaur. The themed sets are sold separately.

Each cartridge contains more than 200 facts and questions, allowing children to explore three levels of content by answering questions in the Challenge Mode and unlocking new levels of difficulty. Children engage with the touchTab by pressing the various topics on the cartridges revealing educational audio content.
