Puzzles, Costumes, and More All Part of DHX Brands’ Line-up for Teletubbies

DHXMediaOriginalTeletubbiesDHX Brands has appointed numerous new UK licensing partners for the revamped Teletubbies series. Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG) brokered the deals.

CPLG secured deals with Ravensburger to produce themed puzzles, MV Sports for wheeled and outdoor toys, and International Greetings for the arts and crafts category. Rainbow Productions has been enlisted to create costumes based on characters Tinky Winky, Laa Laa, Dipsy, and Po.

DHX Brands has also recently appointed Character Options as global master toy partner.

Products are expected to arrive in retail locations beginning in 2016.

DHX Brands Signs Character Options as Master Toy Partner on New Teletubbies

DHXMediaOriginalTeletubbiesDHX Media has appointed Character Options as global master toy partner for the new series of Teletubbies. DHX Brands, the company’s dedicated brand and consumer products arm, completed the deal.

Character Options will launch product at retail in the UK in 2016, with other territories to follow. Core categories will be plush, plastics, and bath toys.

The much-anticipated new 60-episode series of Teletubbies has been commissioned by the UK’s CBeebies and is being produced by Darrall Macqueen Ltd. It will bring a contemporary look to the property, ensuring that it is relevant for a new generation.

CBME China in Shanghai Features More than 2,400 Participating Brands

The 14th Shanghai International Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo (CBME China) welcomes local and international suppliers to showcase their latest products through Thursday at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

The event features 2,428 brands from 1,751 exhibitors across 166,680 square meters of exhibition space. Participating brands include Chicco, Hallmark Babies, Mattel, OXO, Teletubbies, and more. The range of maternity products covered extends beyond toys and accessories, to strollers, healthcare, and more.

This year’s CBME China offers private meetings to help buyer meet one-on-one with top suppliers, as well as leading chain stores and online retailers for children, baby, and maternity products. In addition, there will be presentations from government representatives to discuss the latest guidelines and laws covering milk importation, social media marketing, and retail store development strategy, among other topics.

Teletubbies to be Made into Beanie Babies

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po will soon hit store shelves in the form of Beanie Babies as a part of a new partnership between BBC Worldwide and Ty. The deal will transform the Teletubbies characters into six-inch Beanie Babies, which will be available in the UK and Ireland this fall/winter.

Teletubbies was created by Ragdoll Productions for BBC, and has aired in more than 120 countries. The brand has sold more than 33 million DVDs and videos and 50 million plush toys.
