Trigger Happy, the creators of platforms that enable social animation on mobile devices, launches Toon Hero, an app for iPad users of all ages to create their own animated stories using famous characters without any training or artistic ability. Using exclusively licensed characters and properties from studios such as The Jim Henson Co., Hero: 108, Mukpuddy, and National Geographic, among others, animated creations can be shared as status updates, stories, jokes, greetings, and more.
While animation can often require years of training, expensive software, complicated tool-sets and more, the Toon Hero app breaks down these barriers by making animation as easy as tapping, swiping, dragging, and talking.
Toon Hero users will experience a new way to express themselves through social media that’s not limited to 140 characters or static pictures. They have the ability to share a video that was created using their own imagination. Amtrak and The Jim Henson Co. have joined for the Pajanimals Pack Your Pajamas Sweepstakes. The new promotion and the company’s ongoing partnership with Amtrak were announced by Melissa Segal, executive vice president of global consumer products for The Jim Henson Co.
Families can enter the Pajanimals Pack Your Pajamas Sweepstakes now through July 31 by logging onto www.henson.com/PJsweepstakes and following the sweepstakes entry directions. The sweepstakes will award one grand prize of four round-trip coach tickets on Amtrak, a Flip video camera, and a four-piece large plush set of Pajanimals from Tomy. Five first prize winners will receive HeysUSA Amtrak luggage and a Pajanimals Adventure Game, from Briarpatch. Ten second prize winners will receive an Amtrak-branded hoodie and the Pajanimals Playdate DVD from NCircle Entertainment.
Amtrak will promote the Pajanimals Pack Your Pajamas Sweepstakes and entry details through counter cards and seatbacks in more than 100 Amtrak stations nationwide. Amtrak will also distribute free Pajanimals-themed activity booklets to young travelers and Pajanimals will be featured on placemats for use in Amtrak’s dining cars.
On May 9, Jim Henson Family TV, the new paid channel from The Jim Henson Co., launched on YouTube. For the first time, the new channel, featuring ad-free full episodes of hit shows like Sid the Science Kid and Fraggle Rock, will provide hours of family-friendly Henson content for computer, phone, tablet, and TV viewing, all for the introductory price of $2.99/month or $24.99/year.
