App Center for the very first time. The Magic School Bus: Dino
Shuffle app, for the Leapfrog LeapPad, will be available for
download in the LeapFrog App Center this August.
Players will be able to shuffle through a Dino Deck compiled by
everyone’s favorite science teacher, Ms. Frizzle, to learn hundreds of
interesting dino facts, including size, diet, speed, and more.
Children can then test their dino knowledge in two exciting,
fast-paced, and highly replayable games.

On July 31, New Video will release The Magic School Bus: The Complete Series, which features 52 episodes and includes activities and brain busters for parents and kids. This set also features a 3-D lenticular cover; a guide for kids with teasers, trivia, and experiments; and a parents’ guide with lessons and learning options.
Released just in time for Back to School activities will be four Magic School Bus singles, The Human Body, Super Star Power, Takes a Dive, and Takes Flight. Also available will be two three-packs from the series, Blast Off! From Sea to Space and Field Trip Fun and Games, both of which include episodes that have never been released on DVD.
New Video will support the brand with a national marketing and publicity campaign, which includes trade media outlets, partnerships with licensees and science foundations, paid online and social media advertising, outreach to parenting press, mommy bloggers, parenting organizations and play in the top 10 radio markets, and more. The campaign is designed to generate several million consumer impressions this summer and fall.

Scholastic Media announced a new addition to its global children’s science franchise The Magic School Bus with the release of The Magic School Bus: Oceans for LeapFrog’s award-winning LeapPad and Leapster Explorer; the cartridge game will be available for retail in August for $25. LeapFrog will also have The Magic School Bus: Dino Shuffle app available for download in the LeapFrog App Center for $7.50.
Designed for children ages 5-8, The Magic School Bus: Oceans teaches young gamers hundreds of facts about ocean life through trivia challenges and seven games. Players can earn badges by performing well in games or trivia challenges, and can redeem these badges for additional features—like decorations for the bus or a customized Magic School Bus driver’s license—through the LeapFrog Connect Application.
Based on the best-selling Scholastic book series written by Joanna Cole and illustrated by Bruce Degen, The Magic School Bus television series has been broadcast in more than 35 countries in 16 languages. With more than 60 million books in print, the brand has won many industry awards, including two Emmys for Lily Tomlin’s portrayal of Ms. Frizzle in the TV series, five CINE Golden Eagles, and an Annenberg Public Policy Center Award.

The Magic School Bus is celebrating its 25th anniversary with new products, a live tour, and promotions. The Scholastic brand will kick off the celebration next month with the release of The Magic School Bus: Oceans game for Nintendo DS and The Magic School Bus: Dinosaurs app for Apple’s iPad. Both releases are based on the Scholastic books written by Joanna Cole and illustrated by Bruce Degen.
Joining the celebration, Identity Games will release its new GameChanger (an electronic board that works with the iPad) featuring The Magic School Bus game skins. The Young Scientists Club will launch “The Magic School Bus Science Club,” and release five new Magic School Bus activity kits this year. Scholastic Audio has three new Magic School Bus audio books scheduled for release next year.
Additionally, Maximum Entertainment Productions and The Brad Simon Organization will tour the new “The Magic School Bus – Live! The Climate Challenge” live show throughout the U.S., hitting 60 cities. An anniversary field trip event and a book signing in New York City, as well as an online game, are also planned.
Qubo Channel announces the launch of 12 new animated and live-action series with several U.S. premieres that will roll out on the network beginning this summer through fall. The diverse mix of family friendly programming includes the return of The Magic School Bus series from Scholastic for the fall and the U.S. premiere of the animated series Vitaminix, a series of shorts encouraging good eating habits for kids.
Additionally, Qubo brings to its schedule the U.S. premieres of The Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog, Willa’s Wild Life, Shelldon, Pearlie, and Mighty Machines, plus new episodes of the returning series Turbo Dogs.
In addition, beginning this fall season, Qubo will launch a classic weekend animation block featuring the newly acquired He-Man and the Masters of the Universe; She-Ra, Princess of Power; BraveStarr; and the animated Ghostbusters. To round out the schedule, Qubo will debut Animal Exploration with Jarrod Miller in the fall.
