Wonder Forge Develops New World of Eric Carle Games

eric carleWonder Forge has partnered with The World of Eric Carle, for multi-year North American licensing agreement to develop preschool games based on the best-selling books by Eric Carle. The line will feature Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar on two of Wonder Forge’s game platforms—Matching and Surprise Slides.

These new games will debut with select retailers and media at the Toy Industry’s Fall Toy Preview Show in Dallas.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Crawls Its Way to StoryToys App

EC_LOGO_4c PrimaryStoryToys has signed a deal with The World of Eric Carle to publish a series of global apps. The three-year partnership will include the creation and development of children’s apps based on the characters created by Eric Carle.

StoryToys will launch the first app on March 20th, on The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day, as part of the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the children’s book. A year-long campaign will also kick off on this day in partnership with retailers, promotional partners, and key licensees worldwide. The anniversary will be supported with marketing campaigns, consumer promotions, and new product instructions.

Kids Preferred Debuts Little Artists, Musicians Lines Featuring The World of Eric Carle

EricCarleEaselThis spring, Kids Preferred will debut two new collections of toys from The World of Eric Carle. The Little Artist Collection features artistic toys and accessories that offer young artists the chance to paint the world as they see it, while the Little Musician Collection helps budding little musicians create notes, rhythms, and tunes all their own.

The World of Eric Carle line has The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Carle’s best-selling children’s book, as its centerpiece. Both the Little Artist and Little Musician Collections will debut at the American International Toy Fair in February.

The Little Artist Collection includes a wooden easel with a paper roll, paint cups, and magnets, including a chalkboard and a dry erase board; an art smock /apron with vinyl pockets; and a splat mat/floor cover with a colorful design that absorbs paints and spills. [Read more...]

The World of Eric Carle My First Smart Pad Library Lets Little Readers See, Hear, Touch, and Learn

UnknownThe World of Eric Carle My First Smart Pad Library combines eight interactive books with a two-sided, handled electronic activity pad that’s perfectly sized for little hands. Created by Publications International Ltd. (PIL), The World of Eric Carle My First Smart Pad Library is inspired by the work of author and illustrator, Eric Carle, best known for The Very Hungry Caterpillar. More than 120 million copies of Carle’s popular picture books have sold worldwide.

The eight books feature Eric Carle artwork, and focus on early learning concepts including alphabet, spelling, opposites, and rhymes, as well as animal names, behaviors, habitats, and sizes. The two-sided electronic activity pad features 51 padded letter and picture buttons that play letter names, alphabet games, animal sounds, and music. The books prompt children to press buttons while they read to bring the pages to life.

The World of Eric Carle My First Smart Pad Library will be available at retail stores throughout the U.S., along with an assortment of The World of Eric Carle sound books.

A brand new Very Hungry Caterpillar iOS app, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Friends Sticker Book, from Night and Day Studios, launched today. The app taps into kids’ creativity and features all of the favorite characters from The Very book series.

The World of Eric Carle has renewed its license with master toy partner Kids Preferred for an additional four years in a deal brokered by The Joester Loria Group.

Kids Preferred has been a partner for more than 7 years with successful programs consisting of plush, plastic, and wood developmental toys in retail accounts including Babies “R” Us, Buy Buy Baby, Kohl’s, Sears, and Barnes & Noble. Kids Preferred continues to develop a wide range of innovative toys that encourage early developmental skills and playful learning for infants and toddlers. New introductions and expanded retail programs this year will include the following Target, Kohl’s, and Babies “R” Us. Chorion has picked Haven Licensing to be the agent for its brands Olivia, The World of Eric Carle, and Noddy. The agreement is for Australia and New Zealand. Haven is already sub-agent for Beatrix Potter in the region, and Chorion’s Mr. Men and Little Miss.
