Spin Master Helps Deliver Smiles and Toys to Hospital Girls and Boys

Stars4SmilesOn September 16, celebrities joined Stars 4 Smiles for its inaugural visit to the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center’s children’s facility in Torrance, Calif.

Toys were carted through the three children’s areas at the hospital, including the pediatric ward; the pediatric outpatient clinic, where children were receiving their chemotherapy treatments; and the hospital’s playground.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star Megan Fox, Anger Management star Brian Austin Green, Olympic Gold Medalist Carmelita Jeter, MMA fighter Tito Ortiz, comedy magician Eric Buss, The Twilight Saga films star Jackson Rathbone, Brett Davern of MTV’s Awkward, and Corbin Bleu of High School Musical distributed toys to nearly three dozen patients. Despicable Me Leads Weekend Box Office

Despicable Me, a cartoon film featuring the voice of Steve Carell, topped the weekend box office in North America. The film doubled its pre-opening forecasts with sales of $60.1 million across the U.S. and Canada. The film was produced for approximately $69 million by Illumination Entertainment through an exclusive financing and distribution deal with Universal.

Predators, starring Adrien Brody, opened at No. 3 with $25.3 million, up from a pre-opening estimate in the low $20 million range. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse fell to No. 2 with $33.4 million, Toy Story 3 slipped to No. 4 with $22 million, and The Last Airbender fell to No. 5 with $17.2 million.

Twilight Star Casted in 3-D Stretch Armstrong Movie

Universal Pictures has announced that Twilight star Taylor Lautner will play the title character in the studio’s upcoming movie based on Hasbro’s popular toy Stretch Armstrong. The Stretch Armstrong movie, which will be in 3-D, is set to be released in 2012.
