Warner Bros., Sesame Workshop Release Sesame Street: Fairytale Fun DVD

Sesame StreetWarner Bros. Home Entertainment and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, have released Sesame Street: Fairytale Fun on DVD. Now kids can join Elmo and Abby on their educational adventure through fairytales, such as Hansel and Gretel and nursery rhymes with Mother Goose.

The two-hour DVD includes a CinderElmo bonus feature and everyone’s favorite Sesame Street monsters such as Oscar the Grouch. Now in its 44th season, Sesame Street is the longest-running program in kids’ TV and this new addition to the program’s collection of DVDs will be just as fun and educational. The Sesame Street: Fairytale Fun release is also available for digital download.

MBE launches Man of Steel Toy Range

Super Man ToysWith the release of Warner Bros.Man of Steel, MBE launches a range of toys based on the movie, including Interactive Superman with remote control, U-command Kryptonian cycle with remote control, Kryptonian armor sword and accessories, Kryptonian gauntlet scanner launcher, Kryptonian gauntlet disc launcher, Kryptonian Earth gear, and Kryptonian armor utility belt with accessories. All the toys are for kids ages 4 and up.

The Interactive Superman and the U-command Kryptonian cycle come with an infrared remote control to activate the animated body language, voice, and sound effects. The cycle has light-up wheels and its movements are controlled through the joysticks on the wireless remote control. Walmart Partners with Warner Bros. for Man of Steel Screening and Promotion

Walmart_MOS_TicketsWalmart has partnered with Warner Bros. for an advance screening of the Man of Steel film, which will take place in selected local theaters nationwide at 7 p.m. on June 13. Tickets can be purchases at more than 3,700 Walmart locations nationwide. In addition to being the first to see Man of Steel, Walmart customers can also take advantage of special offers. Each ticket bought at Walmart will feature a code on the back that allows customers to pre-order their own Blu-ray Combo Pack or HD Digital Download of Man of Steel, which will contain exclusive film content.

Fans can bring Superman to life with the official Man of Steel Experience augmented reality app. The app allows customers to take photos with the superhero, as well as unlock special photo frames by pointing their phone at Man of Steel signage in their local Walmart. The app is available at the App Store and on Google Play.

Customers will receive a free original Digital Comic Book written by Man of Steel screenwriter David Goyer with every ticket.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announces two of its biggest mobile games, Batman: Arkham City Lockdown and Scribblenauts Remix, are coming to Android, exclusively in the Amazon Appstore for Android.

LEGO Group Launches Movie Maker App

LEGO Group, in conjunction with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment, has launched the LEGO DC Super Heroes Movie Maker app on the iTunes App store. The app allows users to create their own stop-motion movie featuring some famous superheroes. The simple tools and guides make it easy to shoot, edit, and add music on an iPhone. and save it to your camera roll to share.

ThunderCats at Toy Fair

Bandai holds the global master toy license for ThunderCats, and the company showcased its upcoming line of ThunderCats-licensed toys at Toy Fair last week. Bandai’s lineup, to launch this fall, will include detailed ThunderCats four-inch figures, the Deluxe ThunderTank vehicle and four-inch Snarf figure, the highly articulated ThunderCats eight-inch Classic Figures, and the ThunderCats Deluxe Sword of Omens. ThunderCats, a new animated television series from Warner. Bros. Animation (WBA) and Japanese animation studio Studio4°C, will air on Cartoon Network this year.

Harry Potter Licensees Announced for Upcoming Movies

Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) has announced its licensing roster so far for the upcoming feature films Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Part 2, in theaters November 19 and July 15, 2011 respectively.

Coinciding with the release of Part 1, Lego will debut an array of Lego Harry Potter construction sets, including Hogwarts Castle, Freeing Dobby, Quidditch Match, Hagrid’s Hut, The Burrow, and Hogwarts Express. Other licensees include The Noble Collection (wands, chess sets, high-end sculpts), Tomy, Panini, DeAgostini, Hasbro, Rubie’s Costume Co., Artbox Entertainment, Gentle Giant, Giant Merchandising, Jibbitz, BioWorld Merchandising, Inc., Hallmark, Andrews McMeel Publishing, Tonner Doll, and more.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 marks the first part in the final chapter of the series. Directed by David Yates from a screenplay by Steve Kloves (based on the book by J.K. Rowling), the movie is produced by David Heyman, David Barron, and Rowling.

Green Lantern Toys to Come from Pressman

Pressman Toy Corporation has announced a deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, for a line of games based on Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming 2011 film, Green Lantern. The movie will release June 17, and Pressman’s games based on the movie will be available at retailers nationwide in May.

The line will include skill, action, and strategy games for kids of all ages, each retailing for under $20. The Green Lantern Quickshot Game tests dexterity, instructing kids to load up their shooters with marbles and pop out the Green Lanterns. Additional games are currently in development.

Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Proposal) in the title role as the newest member of the Green Lantern Corps. The film also stars Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively, as well as Peter Sarsgaard, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins, and more.

Mezco Toyz to Create Mez-Itz for DC Comic Characters

Mezco Toyz has announced a deal with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on behalf of DC Comics to create Mez-Itz, Mezco’s signature designer vinyl brand. The deal gives Mezco Toyz access to the DC Comics catalogue of characters, which includes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern.

The first characters introduced in the line will be Batman and the Joker, in a two pack of six inch Mez-Itz. They will debut at San Diego Comic Con in June 2010. The 12 inch Green Hornet figures will be released November 2010 and will feature 11 points of articulation, an alternate right hand, gas gun, and a cloth coat. The Kato figure will also be released November 2010 and will feature nine points of articulation and an alternate right hand with gun.

Warner Bros. Named Exclusive Distributor for Upcoming LEGO Universe

Later this year, the LEGO Group will launch LEGO Universe, the first MMOG (massively multiplayer online game) based on the LEGO play experience. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) has signed on as the exclusive retail distributor of LEGO Universe outside of LEGO channels.

Developed by the LEGO Group and NetDevil, LEGO Universe enables players ages 8 and up to build, create, interact with friends, battle, and explore LEGO worlds. The MMOG is currently in a closed beta, and will release in the second half of the year.
