Wicked Cool Toys to Launch Wild Kratts Toy Offering at Toys “R” Us

Nov24.9MediaWild Kratts, the animated adventure series from Kratt Brothers Company and 9 Story Media Group, has reached the No. 1 spot for kids 4 to 8 and kids 6 to 11 across all networks. The strong performance of the brand also extends to toys and books.

Master toy licensee Wicked Cool Toys has launched a toy offering at Toys “R” Us, toysrus.com, and shop.pbskids.com. Due to the line’s strong initial performance, new items have been developed, including a Tortuga playset deluxe power suit with sound, as well as hero and villain packs. The new items were on display at the Dallas Fall Mass Market Preview and are expected to be available at retail next fall. Random House Kids has also released the fist Wild Kratts book in the U.S. and Canada, which needed to be reprinted because initial sales did so well.

The expansion comes shortly after PBS Kids greenlit a fourth season and 9 Story announced new sales of the series to France Télévisions (France), E Junior (United Arab Emirates) and Canal Panda (Portugal). Wild Kratts has previously been licensed to Discovery Kids (Latin America and Asia), Super RTL (Germany), Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (Middle East), Noga (Israel), TV3 (Spain), SIC (Portugal), Dublin Films (Ireland), VRT (Belgium), Chello Media (Eastern Europe), MediaCorp PTD Ltd. (Singapore), TV3 Catalunya (Spain), Minika (Turkey), and Primetime (Colombia).

WIT to Host Networking Breakfast, Sponsor PlayCHIC, and More at ChiTAG

WIT.logoWomen in Toys, Licensing, and Entertainment (WIT), will be celebrating the power of play at the Chicago Toy & Game Week from November 20 through 23.

WIT is a premier sponsor of PlayCHIC, the industry’s annual play-inspired fashion show. The event pairs couture fashion designers with toy and games brands to create runway looks, and this year’s show will feature a WIT-inspired look.

On November 21, WIT will celebrate the Rising Star Award nomination of organization president and Brandberry Inc. founder, Ashley Mady, at the 7th annual TAGIE Awards. The celebration honors toy and game inventors worldwide, and will be held in the Grand Ballroom at Chicago’s Navy Pier. Mady is nominated for her work with the Wicked Cool Toys brand, Crashlings, which she co-invented.

WIT’s Wake Up With WIT breakfast networking event will be held on November 22. Building product for today’s market, going for a TV licensed property, the power of mentorship, and business empowering girls are some of the topics to be discussed. New Girl Scouts Collection from Wicked Cool Toys to Include Girl Scout Cookie Oven

GirlScouts.DeluxeOvenLogoWicked Cool Toys has entered into a licensing relationship with Girl Scouts of the USA to introduce a new Girl Scout Cookie Oven, as well as a comprehensive line of role play, craft, and activity products.

The Girl Scout Cookie Oven will feature mixes inspired by popular Girl Scout Cookies such as Thin Mints, Trefoils, peanut butter, and caramel coconut varieties, as well as traditional classics such as chocolate chip, oatmeal, and brownies. Meanwhile, Wicked Cool’s line of craft and activity kits for ages 6 and up, entitled D.I.Y. girl, is inspired by fun projects Girl Scouts engage in. These include such diverse offerings as a string art kit, a jewelry making kit, a collage silhouette kit, a garland making kit, and more.

Wicked Cool Toys expects its line to arrive at mass market retailers throughout the U.S. beginning in the fall of next year.

Wicked Cool and Sesame Workshop to Partner on Summer and Seasonal Products

WickedCoollogoupdatedWicked Cool Toys has signed a multi-year licensing agreement with Sesame Workshop for summer and seasonal toys based on classic Sesame Street legacy characters, including Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby. The licensing agreement covers North America, and the line is expected to include balls, hoppers, sprinklers, and sandboxes. These items will begin arriving at retail next spring.

“We are thrilled to be working with the talented entertainment innovators at Sesame Workshop, and to bring a line of engaging seasonal, sand, and water toys to market beginning next year,” said Jeremy Padawer, co-president of Wicked Cool Toys.

Paws Inc. Signs Wicked Cool Toys as Master Toy Licensee for Garfield

GarfieldWicked Cool Toys has been appointed master toy licensee for the Garfield brand in a deal brokered by Bulldog Licensing Inc., Garfield’s U.S. licensing representatives on behalf of Paws Inc. The agreement grants Wicked Cool Toys the worldwide rights to develop and market a line of figures, plush, vehicles, play sets, role play, and seasonal products based on Garfield. The Garfield product is expected to launch this holiday season.

Status Media Heroically Debuts Hero Holder

Status Media has unveiled the Hero Holder, a mobile device holder featuring popular superheroes. The first Hero Holder will be a limited edition Marvel Spider-Man, available now for pre-sale in advance of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which will be in theaters May 2. There will also be a super-limited, 1-in-100 variant of Spider-Man in his black costume, which can be found exclusively at ToyWiz.

The Hero Holder comes with two sets of bendable arms that can hold any size mobile device or tablet—vertically or horizontally—including iPhones, Android mobile phones, full sized or mini-iPads, Kindles, or any tablets made for kids or adults. Chargers can easily plug into devices when in the Hero Holder, which will be produced with Wicked Cool Toys. Current licensors offering creative support for the product include Marvel, DC, and WWE.
