Each playable character has its own signature street style and skills including jumps, drifts, slides, flip, and other super stunt moves. NBA 2K13 to Feature National Team and 1992 Dream Team

2K Sports partnered with USA Basketball to feature both the 2012 USA Basketball Men’s National Team and the 1992 “Dream Team” in NBA 2K13, the next installment of the NBA video game simulation franchise.

The 2012 USA Basketball Men’s National Team has earned recognition as one of USA Basketball’s all-time greatest teams. The original “Dream Team” is widely considered the most dominant sports team ever assembled, and featured 11 Hall of Fame players including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, David Robinson, and Charles Barkley.

Developed by Visual Concepts, NBA 2K13 is not yet rated by the ESRB and will be available on October 2 in North America and October 5 internationally for Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PSP, Wii, and Windows PC. The Wii U version will be available during the holiday season. Fans can pre-order now at participating retailers in order to receive the NBA All-Star content at no extra cost.

Microsoft Announces Release of New Games for Xbox 360

Microsoft is releasing new video games, including Halo 4 and Dance Central 3, just in time for back-to-school shopping.

Dance central 3 is back with new features, including a multiplayer party mode allowing up to eight players. Dance central 3 features a soundtrack with more than 40 new tracks, taking players back in time to the 70s, 80s, 90s with chart-toppers. Users can also import song libraries from Dance Central and Dance Central 2. The in-game music store lets players build their dance library, using more than 140 songs and routines. Available in October, Dance Central 3 requires an Xbox 360 with Kinect sensor.

Ancient evil awakens in Halo 4, and The Master Chief returns to battle an ancient evil that seeks vengeance and annihilation. Shipwrecked in a mysterious world, gamers are faced with new enemies and deadly technology. Enlist aboard the Infinity to experience Halo’s original multiplayer and Spartan Ops innovative, episodic fiction-based co-op missions.

With three different game modes, game types, and gameplay in store for Halo, the Limited Edition Halo 4 Console may come in handy. “Transformers: Fall of Cybertron” Release Date is Nudged Forward

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron has earned an early release date thanks to popular demand. The game, which will launch for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, will hit stores on August 21.

Players fight through both sides of the Transformers’ most epic battles, culminating in the exodus from their home planet. New LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes to Save the Day

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games are partnering to create LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. The game is now available in North America for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, the Wii, Windows PC, Nintendo DS/Nintendo 3DS handheld systems, and PlayStation Vita handheld system. The video game is a sequel to LEGO Batman: the Videogame.

In LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, gamers team up with Batman, Robin, and other classic superheroes such as Superman, Wonderwoman, and the Flash. Players embrace the roles of the Caped Crusader, Boy Wonder, and others to go against Lex Luthor and The Joker.

Second Annual STEM Competition

The National STEM Video Game Challenge is now accepting entries for its annual competition, hosted by the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop and E-Line Media. Submissions of original video game concepts and designs from students and educators are currently being accepted through March 12.

The challenge aims to motivate students who have an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by tapping into their natural passion for playing and making video games. The STEM competition is divided into four categories for individuals and teams: middle school, high school, collegiate, and educator.

Entries can be created by using any game-making platform, including, but not limited to, written concepts, Gamestar Mechanic, Microsoft’s Kodu Game Lab, GameMaker, and Scratch.

New Microsoft Platforms to Thrust Kids in Popular TV Shows Via Kinect

At a press conference earlier this week, Microsoft announced two new platforms that will take kids into the world of Sesame Street and National Geographic via the company’s Kinect for Xbox 360.

Launching next spring, Kinect Sesame Street TV invites children to experience the world of Sesame Street alongside their favorite characters, such as Big Bird, Grover, Cookie Monster, and Elmo. The Kinect for Xbox 360 will allow preschoolers to visually and physically interact with Sesame Street characters on screen while watching Sesame Street episodes. Kids can help characters with tasks, such as finding shapes and counting objects, while playing in areas unique to Sesame Street, such as Elmo’s World. Soho Productions is the developer for Kinect Sesame Street TV.

Build-A-Bear Enters Kinectimals World

Build-A-Bear Workshop is working with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 to introduce a new interactive entertainment experience for store visitors. Starting October 11, select stuffed animals sold in all Build-A-Bear Workshop stores and at www.buildabear.com can be imported into the new Kinect for Xbox 360 game, Kinectimals Now with Bears.

Each of the four bears will include a special Kinectimals hangtag that features a Microsoft Tag. When the tag is scanned with the Kinect for Xbox 360, the bears are imported right into the game. Kids can then engage in activities, including training, caring for, and playing with their cubs, as well as embark on challenges across two mysterious islands.

Select North American and United Kingdom Build-A-Bear Workshop stores will have Kinect for Xbox 360 stations set up to showcase Kinectimals Now with Bears, along with Kinect-enabled Build-A-Bear Workshop bears.
