The Jim Henson Co. Launches Jim Henson Family TV on YouTube

the-jim-henson-company-post1On May 9, Jim Henson Family TV, the new paid channel from The Jim Henson Co., launched on YouTube. For the first time, the new channel, featuring ad-free full episodes of hit shows like Sid the Science Kid and Fraggle Rock, will provide hours of family-friendly Henson content for computer, phone, tablet, and TV viewing, all for the introductory price of $2.99/month or $24.99/year.

Launching on the same day, Jim Henson TV para la familia en espanol will debut Henson content in Spanish. Coming soon, subscribers to the English channel can upgrade to include the Spanish channel for an additional fee. [Read more...]

Thrash Lab and Giant Robot Profile Uglydoll Creator

Ashton Kutcher’s Thrash Lab, in collaboration with Giant Robot Profiles, profiles Uglydoll creator David Horvath. The profile tells the story of how Uglydoll was born around 10 years ago from a simple character drawing in a letter margin to a hand-sewn doll by Horvath’s now wife Sun-Min Kim.

I Double Dog Dare You!—for A Christmas Story Enthusiasts

Fans of the classic holiday comedy A Christmas Story can show their devotion with the “A Christmas Story: I Double Dog Dare You! Video Contest.” The contest, presented by Warner Bros. Consumer Products, allows fans to re-create their favorite scenes and post the videos to YouTube for a chance to win a trip to the real A Christmas Story house in Cleveland, Ohio.

Bratz to Take Over YouTube Homepage on October 10

On October 10 (10-10-10), Bratz will be featured on the YouTube homepage as MGA Entertainment unveils the first-ever Bratz webisode from its new web series, Bratz Rock. The series of 11 episodes follows Bratz girls Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha, and Jade as they enter a song contest held by their idol and celebrity, Whisper. As the Bratz girls get closer to finishing a song for the contest, they also get closer to finding out who Whisper really is.

The first episode, “Whispers in the Schoolyard,” launches exclusively on the front page of YouTube on October 10. MGA is also celebrating the brand’s 10th anniversary by introducing 10 new Bratz dolls. Each doll, complete with an individual personality and unique outfit, will feature new points of articulation, making them more poseable.
