Bandai America announced today that the Tamagotchi franchise is growing like never before.

The Tamagotchi Pix device is the first to feature a built-in camera that allows kids to take pictures with their virtual pet and interact in a new way. In addition to the well-known feeding of the pet, kids can now also cook for them, order take-out, explore the real world with Tamagotchi friends, and add pictures of adventures to a built-in social feed.

How kids raise the Tamagotchi character still affects gameplay, but in a whole new way. The device features personal rooms and gameplay that dictates the Tamagotchi character’s future profession when it goes back to Tamagotchi Planet.

No internet is required to connect with the virtual pet, so kids can nurture their Tamagotchi wherever they go. Kids can also connect with their real-life friends through a Tama Code that allows them to play together and give gifts.
