September 9 is the inaugural National Care Bears #ShareYourCare Day, and to commemorate it, the Care Bears will be on location in the Bronx, N.Y., and teaming up with a local philanthropist to donate plush toys to children in need. Care Bears has also aligned with roughly 300 bloggers, known as the Care Bears #ShareYourCare Ambassadors, who will keep the conversation going to their audiences.
Zachary Kaplan, a 10-year-old philanthropist based in New York City, and Care Bears will be donating 400 Care Bears plush toys and DVDs to children ages 2 to 4. The children are supported by Leake & Watts early childhood programs in the Bronx, and will be presented with the bears during an afternoon event on September 9.
The National #ShareYourCare Day movement is intended to remind Care Bears fans that kind actions, whether small or large, can make a difference.
