Pressure Games is looking to reinvent the classic game of hide-and-seek with a new product that combines handheld gaming and physical play.

Countdown was designed and built for diverse play, from a reinvented classic game of hide-and-seek outdoors to tabletop gaming inside and on the go. Countdown includes more than 12 retro-inspired reflex, logic, and movement puzzles that can be played right out of the box. Games include Trigger Finger, Color Wheel, Whack-a-Mole, Cut the Wire, and more, with the ability to add future games and updates through the companion Countdown app.

Following the prototype’s first award-winning appearance at this year’s Outdoor Toy Awards, Pressure Games has launched a Wefunder crowd equity campaign to raise the necessary capital to bring Countdown to market next year.

“Kids today need more interactive play experiences not only with other kids but with the whole family, says Alex Andreae, founder and CEO of Pressure Games. “For kids, there is a constant need to hop from screen to screen, tablets, laptops, mobile phones, and parents today are ‘always on.’ Our toys are meant to reinvigorate traditional active play in a way that resonates with kids and families alike.”

Ahead of Countdown’s formal launch, the company has formed partnerships to assist in marketing and manufacturing. Valerie Vacante of Collabsco is on board as a key member of the Pressure Games advisory board, while Matt Nuccio of Design Edge is a retained consultant set to lead manufacturing.
