Toy companies, suppliers, and supporters will join forces to bring toys and gifts to kids in Puerto Rico this holiday season.
Woody Browne, owner of licensing and marketing firm Building Q, initially proposed the idea. For decades, Browne has helped toy and juvenile product manufacturers acquire licenses for their products. He reached out to contacts across the industry and secured thousands of new toys for donation.
The group of industry professions led by Browne teamed up with Friends of Puerto Rico (FPR) to bring toys to the island next month. The toy will be distributed from Pronce, and stored and sorted at the warehouse, which was donated by FPR. Centros Sor Isolina Ferré, The Boys and Girls Club, and other organizations will manage the distribution.
To help the cost of shipping form the mainland, donations can be made at friendsofpuertorico.org/christmas/toydrive. Additional information is also available at facebook.com/friendsofpuertorico/.
