Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, and The Lego Group will expand the Lego Dimensions with more blockbuster franchises, such as Harry Potter, The Powerpuff Girls, and Ghostbusters. The new expansion packs increase the complete selection to 30 entertainment brands, allowing players to mix and match characters and universes.
The new available packs will be based on 16 entertainment properties and will begin launching on Sept. 27 with the Ghostbusters Story Pack, Adventure Time and Mission: Impossible Level Packs, Harry Potter and Adventure Time Team Packs, and The A-Team Fun Pack. Other expansion packs will be released in numerous waves stretching into summer next year based on films including Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Lego Batman Movie, The Goonies, and properties such as The Powerpuff Girls, Gremlins, Beetlejuice, and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.
All packs will allow players to use everything from the first nine waves, and no new starter pack is required. For the first time in Lego video games, the all-new Battle Arenas will provide competitive split-screen gameplay for up to four players. Minifigures included in the sixth through ninth wave expansion packs will come with golden Toy Tags that unlock Battle Arenas in the Free Play Adventure World of the corresponding brand. Each arena has four gameplay modes and includes its own traps, special powers, and interactive environments.
TT Games’ and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s Lego Dimensions is available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and the Wii U system.
