Wham-O is putting a new twist on the classic flying disc with the launch of Frisbee Sonic, a square-shaped Frisbee. Frisbee Sonic is currently available only on Kickstarter, and will begin to ship shortly after the campaign ends.

The Frisbee Sonic design is built from a cube as an intersection between a sphere and a cube. The Sonic appears cubic in flight despite that there are six flat surfaces that form the overall shape. The shape of the Frisbee Sonic creates aerodynamic pockets that make catching the Frisbee easier. If it is thrown at a slight angle, it tends to self-correct and fly straight. Three small points will ever touch the ground, which makes less damage and is easier to pick up.
