World of EPI inked a licensing deal with Disney Consumer Products

Under this partnership, World of EPI — maker of The Fresh Dolls — will create a series of 10-inch fashion dolls with rooted hair, collectible figurines, poseable plush, and role-play accessories for the new Disney+ series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, as well as the upcoming Disney Channel series Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.

According to Dr. Lisa Williams, founder of World of EPI, the company’s mission is to create dolls so kids of all ethnicities can grow up seeing a true representation of their beauty.

“It speaks volumes that Disney has collaborated with us on these high-profile projects,” Dr. Williams says. “What a dream to create licensed dolls and toys for these powerhouse Disney and Marvel properties. Together we’re changing how Black and brown children everywhere embrace their own beauty and build their confidence.”

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, launching on Feb. 23 on Disney+, is a revival of the Disney Channel series The Proud Family from the early 2000s. It will pick up the story of its central character Penny Proud, as well as that of her family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, grandmother Henrietta “Suga Mama,” and Puff.

Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows the adventures of 13-year-old super genius Lunella Lafayette and her 10-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur, after Lafayette accidentally brings Devil Dinosaur into present-day New York City via a time vortex. The series will premiere this summer on Disney Channel.

According to Dr. Williams, World of EPI is also developing more Marvel products that will be revealed at a later date.
