Wow! Stuff is getting into the facewear game in a big way.

The Printable Mask Co. is a newly launched subsidiary dedicated to offering at-home printable Mask of the Day kits. The innovation team of in-house scientists at Wow! Stuff created a patent-pending mask technology for kids to create their own masks using any image from a smartphone or other device. With a companion app and a regular inkjet printer, the masks are created using A4-sized sheets made of 100% percale cotton.

“Our face mask kits have been tested to meet World Health Organization guidelines for barrier masks and AFNOR guidance on filtration and breathability,” says Dr. Graeme Taylor, Wow Stuff! co-founder and head of research and development. “The technology allows you to replicate a picture of your face straight onto the cotton sheets so it looks almost like you’re not wearing a mask at all. It also contains ‘Freestyle’ mode that enables you to print any image directly from your camera roll onto the sheets using a regular home printer. This is a game-changing first”

“With the use of face coverings being encouraged by many countries around the world many people, young and old, still seem a little self-conscious wearing them in public,” says Wow! Stuff CEO Richard North. “We thought we could encourage people of all ages to feel more comfortable wearing them if they could express their personality a little. By moving on from the ‘clinical look’ and adding a small touch of humor to a serious subject we feel we can help get more people wearing face coverings and feeling positive about that.”
