One of the most popular — and iconic — vehicles from Hasbro’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero collection is getting an upgrade.

Hasbro officially revealed Operation: Dragonfly this morning, a HasLab project to crowdfund the G.I. Joe Classified Series G.I. Joe Assault Copter Dragonfly (XH-1). At press time, the project is moving toward its goal in record time with nearly 5,000 backers against a goal of 10,000 in just the first two hours of the campaign. Last year, the H.I.S.S. campaign was fully funded in just eight hours and ultimately secured 26,772 backers against a goal of 8,000.

This two-seat helicopter features manual blade rotation, just like the original, LED lighting, opening canopies, and other modern flourishes, including a handsome display stand.

Of course, the Dragonfly also comes with the newest G.I. Joe Classified recruit: William “Wild Bill” Hardy. Stretch goals will unlock additional 6-inch scale action figures, including Night Force Rip Cord (13,000 backers) and Classified Recruits at 16,000 and 19,000 backers.

Pending a successful campaign, the Dragonfly will deploy sometime during the summer of 2024.
