TOTY Awards 2020

They’re often considered to be the “Oscars” of the toy industry, and on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, the next Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards will be distributed at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.

Time is running out to get in the running, and The Toy Association is reminding companies to submit their nominations for the 2020 TOTY Awards by midnight (Eastern) on Thursday, Sept. 19. Finalists will be revealed on Nov. 11, at which time voting will open to retailers, media, The Toy Association members, and consumers through Jan. 5.

2020 Toy of the Year Categories:

  • Action Figure of the Year
  • Creative Toy of the Year
  • Collectible of the Year
  • Construction Toy of the Year
  • Doll of the Year
  • Game of the Year
  • Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year
  • Innovative Toy of the Year
  • License of the Year
  • Outdoor Toy of the Year
  • Playset of the Year
  • Plush of the Year
  • Preschool Toy of the Year
  • Specialty Toy of the Year
  • STEM/STEAM Toy of the Year
  • Vehicle of the Year

Toy companies, inventors, and other industry reps may submit their products and properties in the above listed 16 categories, including the STEM/STEAM Toy of the Year category, which is offered for the first time this year. One winner in each category, along with the consumer-chosen People’s Choice award and the overall Toy of the Year Award will be presented on Feb. 21.
