Greenlight Teams Up With Ford Explorer and the New York Yankees for Yankee Ford Explorer Night

On Wednesday, June 29, the New York Yankees are hosting the Yankee Ford Explorer Night, a family-friendly event that includes giveaways and prizes. Greenlight Toys has teamed up with the New York Yankees and Ford Explorer to create a 1:64 2011 Ford Explorer replica in full Yankees regalia for the game. The first 18,000 fans who attend and are 14 years old or younger will receive a complimentary die-cast 1:64 2011 Explorer as they walk in. PlayStation to Launch New Gaming System and 3-D Display

Later this year, Sony will premiere the PlayStation Vita, which will redefine the portable gaming world with an inventive new platform for a heightened game experience. The device will feature a 5-inch multitouch OLED as the front display and will also incorporate a unique multitouch pad on the back. This technology allow users to interact with motions that were previously not available, such as grabbing, pushing, pulling, and tracing finger motions. The Vita will also be equipped with two analog sticks, enabling for a wider range of game genres. Two versions of the PlayStation Vita will be available for sale: the Wi-Fi model ($249) and the 3G Wi-Fi model ($299). Star Trek Franchise Expands

For the first time ever, gamers will be able to play the roles of Captain Kirk and Spock in the latest Star Trek video game, Star Trek . Cooperative role-playing allows players to work together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy. The original story line is being written by BAFTA award winner Marianne Krawczyk (God of War), in collaboration with the writer/producers of the new Star Trek films, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Skechers Signs Deal with Street Flyers

Skechers USA, Inc. has signed a licensing agreement with Street Flyers, LLC to produce sporting goods and safety gear collections for children and young adults. Both collections are scheduled to launch in toy and mass-market retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada next spring. Under the agreement, Street Flyers will design, produce, and distribute Skechers-branded bicycles, skateboards, scooters, skates, and safety gear. The children’s collection will incorporate designs and images from Skechers’ Zevo-3 animated television series and Skechers Kids characters. Regulators Approve Walmart’s Massmart Deal

According to the Associated Press, regulators approved Walmart’s $2.4 billion bid to buy a controlling share of South African retail chain Massmart. The AP reports that the deal followed “a fierce debate over protectionism in the country with the continent’s most promising economy.” Under the ruling, government agency the Competition Tribunal said Walmart and Massmart could not lay off any workers for two years, must respect Massmart’s existing labor agreements for three years, and must invest in training South African suppliers. The AP reports that the company had already pledged to spend $14 million over the next three years to help farmers and other South African suppliers.
