Jakks Pacific Reports Q2 Financial Results

Jakks Pacific Inc. reported financial results for the second quarter ending on June 30. Net sales for the second quarter were $105.8 million compared to $119.6 million reported in the comparable period in 2017. The net loss attributable to Jakks Pacific for the second quarter was $18.6 million, or $0.80 per diluted share. This compares to a net loss attributable to Jakks Pacific of $16.7 million, or $0.77 per diluted share, reported in the comparable period in 2017. Toy Companies Give Back at TTF’s Play Your Part Charity Event

Chicago area children living in foster care received new toys and games from local toy company volunteers at the Play Your Part event hosted by The Toy Foundation (TTF) in partnership with CASA of Cook County. Local toy companies, including Learning Resources, PlayMonster, Radio Flyer, TOMY, VTech, and more participated in the event at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago. Mattel Reports Q2 Financial Results, Announces Reduction of 2,200 Positions

Mattel Inc. reported its second quarter 2018 financial results. The company also announced a reduction of more than 2,200 positions, representing 22 percent of global non-manufacturing workforce, as well as planned sale of manufacturing sites in Mexico. For the second quarter of this year, net sales were down 14 percent as reported and in constant currency, versus the prior year’s second quarter. Alex Brands Sells Juratoys to Argos Wityu

Alex Brands sold the Juratoys company to Argos Wityu. Juratoys is a toy company in France with a growing international presence. The transaction was led by Edward Arkus and Brent Spiller of Harris Williams’ Consumer Group and Sylvain Noblet and Danielius Uznys of the firm’s London office. Juratoys owns Janod and Kaloo, two complementary toy brands that focus on children ages 0 and 6 years old.
