Children’s Book Author Seeks to Teach Understanding of Muslim Faith

adventuresofimamadamThe Adventures of Imam Adam, which was released shortly after President Donald Trump’s travel ban, is the first children’s book and plush toy that teaches them about the Muslim faith.

The book and toy were created by Danny Shakoj, a Circassion Muslim who recognized that there aren’t many products geared toward those who practice the Islamic faith.

The Adventures of Imam Adam resembles Elf on the Shelf and Mensch on a Bench. It illustrates Imam Adam’s journey to the pilgrimage in Mecca to perform Hajj and explains different parts of Islam, such as the Five Pillars of Islam, in ways children can easily understand.

While the book and plush toy are meant to help teach Muslim children about their faith, they also seek to teach others outside of the faith understanding and acceptance of the faith.
