There’s a new sign on the door of the former ChizComm Ltd. and ChizComm Beacon Media.

The companies have been rebranded as Beacon Media Group under parent company Genius Brands International Inc. With the refreshed alignment and branding, Donna MacNeil will lead Beacon Communications in Toronto while Kathleen Campisano will lead Beacon Media in New York. Beacon Media Group’s divisions provide clients in the toy, consumer products, entertainment, and gaming spaces with the capabilities of an omnichannel marketing and media agency and the largest planner and buyer of kids’ TV media in North America

“New name, new energy, new game as we ramp up into a busy and exciting year ahead,” says Beacon Communications President Donna MacNeil. “Our history of building great brands with clients is something that we’re celebrating and honoring as we grow. We are proud of our success in kids and family brands and entertainment, and as Beacon, we look forward to growing on that mandate and more.”

“Beacon just makes sense given our commitment to spotlighting brands through dynamic and innovative marketing and media strategies that transcend today’s ever-changing market,” says Beacon Media Global Marketing Officer and General Manager Kathleen Campisano. “We know brands, we know audiences, we know media, and we proudly bring those insights, expertise, and creativity to our clients every day. We look forward to what the future holds.”

ChizComm Ltd. was founded in Toronto in April 2013 by Harold and Jennifer Chizick. In 2019, the company merged with New Jersey-based Beacon Media to offer combined capabilities to its clients across North America. In November 2020, Genius Brands International acquired ChizComm Ltd. and ChizComm Beacon Media with the intention of running them as independently operating subsidiaries. This past January, Genius Brands and the Chizicks parted ways, paving the way for the rebranding as Beacon Media Group. The legacy of Beacon Media dates back to 1992 when it was founded by Shelly Hirsch as Summit Media.
