Cosmos-Maya Hits 21 Million Subscribers for WowKidz, Launches Regional Channels

India’s largest animation production company is making its content accessible to all with regional channels in its native land.

Cosmos-Maya hit 21 million subscribers across 28 YouTube channels bundled under its WowKidz umbrella, offering content in 10 native languages — Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Haryanvi — in addition to Hindi and English. The company seeks to give regional subscribers “an opportunity to go back to the roots” with content presented in the “mother tongue” for each region.

“We now provide content to millions of Indian children in their preferred language. They have given us a rousing reception and we will not stop until the length and breath of the country is covered,” says Anish Mehta, CEO, Cosmos-Maya. Wherever there is internet and smartphone penetration, there will be WowKidz providing best in class entertainment in the language of choice. Today we have 10 Indian languages. Ten more will be added in due course. Even the Indian diaspora audiences are rejoicing as WowKidz has given them an avenue to reconnect with their Indian roots and inculcate in children the goodness of their culture.”

Cosmos-Maya’s animation is gaining traction internationally, with projects such as Galactic Agency on the way.
