Monoclonius

Creative Beast Studio is off to a running start for the second series of its Beasts of the Mesozoic collection of dinosaur action figures.

The company exceeded its Kickstarter goal of $150,000 in just under two weeks, with funds being used for the production of four new figures intended to be “accurate representations of the Ceratopsians family of dinosaurs, best known by the legendary Triceratops.” The 1:18-scale figures — Styracosaurus albertensis, Triceratops horridus (sub-adult), Monoclonius crassus (Kickstarter exclusive), and Zuniceratops christopheri — will each feature around 20 points of articulation.

Created by sculptor David Silva, the creative team for the line includes sculptors Jacob Baardse, Raul Ramos, and Simon Panek, with packaging artwork by Raul Ramos, Shannon Beaumont, Carlo Arellano, Jacqueline Jocson, and R.J. Palmer.

Kickstarter backers will receive their figures in package art created by Ezra Tucker, one of the original package artists for Tyco’s Dino-Riders toy line.

The success of the Kickstarter campaign has unlocked stretch goals, under which an additional 21 dinosaur species may be created.
