Dattaguru Mahabal is bringing over 20 years of experience to the Guru Studio family in his new role as vice president of finance.

Dattaguru joins the company from Boat Rocker Media where he most recently served as vice president of financial planning and analysis. At Boat Rocker Media, Dattagutu built financial expertise across its international studios and worked with the company on their subsequent IPO. Additionally, he also helped to grow the company through acquisitions and international expansion while serving as director of mergers and acquisitions at Blue Ant Media for more than five years.

In his new role, Datttaguru will oversee all financial planning, transaction processing, reporting systems, and new business analysts at the studio. As the leader of the company’s production and corporate finance departments, Dattaguru will be able to implement his own approach to corporate financial process engineering and long-term strategic planning in the media industry.

“Dattaguru will work closely with the rest of our senior management to ensure the best financial processes are in place to support our studio’s continued growth,” says Guru Studios President and Executive Creative Director Frank Falcone.

Guru Studios will continue to produce animated storytelling for kids as the company gears up for the release of new series. The Toronto-based content producer is set to premiere two new kids series on CBC and Disney Junior in the months ahead.
