Discovery launched its first digital initiative, the new #Mindblown app. The app offers users the opportunity to learn about five targeted, STEM-focused topics — animals and dinosaurs, space and planets, humans, machines and robotics, and our Earth.
#Mindblown includes videos, interactive games, and augmented reality technology within these categories. Kids can earn virtual money by playing the interactive games, which they can redeem for in-app custom experiences, premium items, and special offers from Discovery partners.
Discovery debuted its #Mindblown brand extension last year, with a range of toys designed for kids ages 6 to 12.
“STEM learning is at the heart of Discovery’s core company values, and the #Mindblown brand has allowed us to reach a younger audience of curious fans,” says Matt Bonaccorso, director of marketing and digital products at Discovery. “#MINDBLOWN dovetails with Discovery’s mission of creativity and curiosity, and now with the app we are able to deliver a unique, interactive experience to a global audience of kids.”
