Disguise, the global costume company owned by Jakks Pacific, has extended its contract with The Pokémon Co. International in a multi-year deal.
Under the extended deal, Disguise will continue to design, market, manufacture, and distribute costumes, costume accessories, and trunk-or-treat kits featuring popular Pokémon characters. This includes (but is not limited to) Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Jigglypuff.
This deal covers rights in North America, Australia, and New Zealand and will commence next year.
Disguise initially launched its Pokémon costume line at retail in 2019, and the brand continues to be a top seller. Later this year, Disguise will launch a selection of new unisex styles as part of Pokémon’s 25th-anniversary celebration. The company is also working on a more expanded costume range for next year.
“We are all huge fans with a passion for Pokémon and we’ve had so much fun creating these styles,” says Tara Hefter, president and GM of Disguise. “It is indeed a powerhouse brand, which is evident in the performance we’ve seen of this line at retail. We look forward to this extended relationship and to the launch of some very innovative new iterations in 2022. We have a few surprises in store.”
Disguise’s current Pokémon offerings are available now online and from a variety of mass and specialty stores.
