Disney Channel Renews Elena of Avalor for Season Three, Expands Licensees

ELENADisney Channel ordered a third season of Elena of Avalor, an animated series that follows a brave and adventurous teenager who rules her kingdom. The series premiered last summer in the U.S. and targets kids ages 2 to 11. Elena of Avalor holds the number one spot in its timeslot in the U.S., the UK, Spain, and Portugal. Episodes from the second season will premiere this fall on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.

Hasbro recently launched a doll line based on the show, and the series also inspired the most popular costume at Disney Store for Halloween and holiday this year. New additions to the range will include the Palace of Avalor play set from Hasbro, and dolls and role-play items from Jakks Pacific. The new line will debut at the North American International Toy Fair this weekend.

The brand is also featured at Disney Parks & Resorts, where Elena greets guests with stories and songs during character appearances. Additional extensions include Disney Publishing for print and e-book titles; Walt Disney Records for an original soundtrack album; and Walt Disney Studios for DVD releases.
