Playmates Toys and DreamWorks Animation have announced a new toy line, set to debut spring 2017, based on the DreamWorks Animation series Voltron: Legendary Defender. Playmates Toys will serve as the master toy licensee.
Voltron: Legendary Defender follows five unsuspecting teenagers as they are transported from Earth to the middle of an intergalactic war. The teenagers become pilots for five mystical robotic lions in a war to protect the universe from evil, in which only the true power of teamwork can unite their lions to form Voltron, a towering warrior that is the universe’s last hope.
