Squishmallows

Kellytoy‘s snuggly Squishmallows are already a hit on the toy charts, and now its sights are set on the pop charts.

The toymaker — recently acquired by Jazwares — tapped Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and composer Luke Tierney to pen the brand’s official theme song, “Hello We’re The Squishmallows.” The single is available on all major digital music platforms and will be included as an authorized music choice for fans to use in stories on social networks including Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok. The fast-growing Squishmallows fanbase is already responsible for more than 20 million views on Tik Tok alone.

“We were so excited to pursue this project for the Squishmallows brand and look forward to introducing our fans and collectors to the song that we think has broad appeal, much like the Squishmallows plush line,” says Kellytoy CEO Jonathan Kelly. “Throughout the month of April, we are distributing the song ‘Hello We’re The Squishmallows’ globally to a wide network of popular music services and social media sites including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music/Google Play, Amazon Music, Target Music, Tik Tok, Tidal and more.”

Fans can also download the song as a free ringtone available on the Squishmallows website and enjoy a full lyric video on YouTube.

Tierney’s prior work includes music commissioned by Nickelodeon and Mattel — for Barbie and Hot Wheels — and other youth-oriented brands such as Carl’s Jr. and Aeropostale. His songs have also received placement on soundtracks including The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Smallville, The Simple Life, and Pretty Little Liars.

The soft and snuggly Squishmallows have become Kellytoy’s bestselling line, with more than 475 characters available across 40 countries. More than 50 million Squishmallows have been sold to date. Depending on the character, members of the Squishmallow Squad are available in 5-, 8-, 12-, and 16-inch sizes. The new Flip-A-Mallows collection is making its way into retail now.
